Radar Zoom

Hello everyone, I was wondering how do you zoom in on the radar to see your targets? I push the trigger button one to turn on the radar, and I thought the second press of the trigger button was suposed to zoom in, what am I doing wrong, my targets are like finding ants in the sand!

You cant zoom in. You can adjust the range of the display to match the target well and put it into wide or narrow view.

You have to tweak the gain to get a good contrast between target returnds and surrounding clutter.

At around 25nm you should roughly be able to spot regular sized contacts.

Make sure that the antenna is pointing at the expected target direction, just tilting it slightly will already give you a very different picture. Ideally you play with antenna and gain a bit constantly.

I’m assuming you’re talking about the mavericks?  If so, only some models of them zoom. To do so press both the Nosewheel steering and the trigger at the same time.  You’ll know if you can zoom by the visibility of an inner rectangle on the picture. 
 

(it might be the Air refueling disconnect button not the steering button. I forget which I programmed my joystick to press)
