Sandman Simulations Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 DCS: F/A-18C Hornet Campaign - Operation Mountain Breeze Official Trailer In the fall of 2015, the battles of the Syrian Civil War between the rebels and the Syrian government forces continue intensely. The involvement of several foreign powers, ISIS, and Hezbollah in the conflicts further escalates tensions. The tension among major superpowers is also on the rise. However, civilians suffer the most. Millions have been forced to leave their destroyed homes. Civilian targets are constantly under bombardment. The USS Theodore Roosevelt, with its Strike Group, is on its way to the region with the aim of establishing a no-fly zone over the western parts of Syria to prevent attacks on civilians. You'll receive detailed mission briefings with charts and kneeboards accessible both in-game and as PDFs. Briefings are presented for pilots in detail by the squadron skipper and flight lead in in-game mission briefings. Performance-based feedback will be provided after each mission. Voice-overs by great actors and narrative elements between missions enhance the immersion, creating a compelling and varied experience. You get to show your skills as a Hornet pilot in diverse missions. Dogfights, close air support, SEAD, and strike missions will put your skills to the test. This is your first cruise, and the Skipper has high expectations for you. Hopefully, you can meet them. Check out a bit longer introduction video about the campaign: 1

Hi, ED somehow left them out from the release so at the moment they can be downloaded from this topic https://forum.dcs.world/topic/350728-campaign-documentation/#comment-5452303 They should become normally available in the next update and will be found behind usual path "program files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/Mods/campaigns/FA-18C Operation Mountain Breeze/Doc" Edited June 14, 2024 by Sandman Simulations

RedLion Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 At first, this campaign was a bit frustrating. The constant shouting from the wing leader to "get back into formation!" quickly became annoying and making it hard to enjoy the experience. However, much like in real life—and likely in any simulation—success often comes from practice and perseverance. Once I got the hang of things, I found the challenge rewarding. If you can push through the initial irritation, there’s a solid game waiting for you. I can confidently say that this campaign has dramatically improved my formation flying skills! I personally found the intros and outros a bit annoying, especially given the detailed documentation available. However, once I figured out how to skip them, my enjoyment of the game significantly increased. That said, this is just my personal opinion! Debriefing, on the other hand, is a good idea. In conclusion, I’d like to thank the Sandman team for creating such an enjoyable experience. Two thumbs up! 1 1

According to player feedback the formation flying requirements have now been eased a bit. You still can't fly where ever you want without pissing off your lead but formation flying should be easier even if AI lead can sometimes fly quite aggressively. However it's just feedback, they are not really sending you home. As you said you can skip intros and outros quite fast with time acceleration. Still it would be better if I had found a way to really give player an option to skip them. 1 1
RedLion Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) Quote @Sandman Simulations AI lead can sometimes fly quite aggressively. For sure Quote As you said you can skip intros and outros quite fast with time acceleration. Actually, I manualy modify the logbook file after each mission. As an option, you can create another campaign file with no intros included. Thanks a lot for a very decent product! Edited October 5, 2024 by RedLion
