Flogger23m Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 (edited) Working on a new skin for the F-16C. When I load into DCS itself, I can find the skin in the loadout section and use it in game. But the ED Model Viewer does not seem to find the skin in the Livery dialogue box. Tried looking up some tutorials but seems like it is a different procedure for different aircraft. For the F-16C, where must I put the skin for it to be select able in the ED Model viewer? Also, does anyone have a full list of all the countries that have F-16s? That way I can add it for all available countries. Currently I have USA, Greece and Poland. Looking for the rest, particularly the USAF Aggressor coalitions. countries = {"USA","GRC","POL",} Edit: Believe I figured it out. It shows under: f-16c bl.50 There is a: f-16_50 which is where most of the skins show up. Is there any difference in the 3D model between the two? If anyone has the rest of the country codes, I would appreciate that. Edited June 18, 2024 by Flogger23m
Mapi Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 (edited) name = "USAF 64th Aggressor SQN - Shark" countries = {"USA","AUSAF"} name = "IAF 115th aggressors squadron" countries = {"ISR",} ... in liveries? Edited June 18, 2024 by Mapi
Tholozor Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 (edited) By default, the ModelViewer only looks for liveries inside the core installation, and not in the Saved Games directory. You can either add the livery to the core installation (which I wouldn't recommended), or make a simple edit for the ModelViewer to use Saved Games as a livery directory. If you go to DCS World\Config\ModelViewer and open the autoexec.cfg, you'll see a number of lines that start with 'mount_vfs' for different things (textures, liveries, models, etc). Add a new line for 'mount vfs_liveries_path' under the others and point it to the Liveries folder in your Saved Games directory, and anything in there should appear in the ModelViewer. You'll most likely have to repeat this if the game updates and overwrites the autoexec.cfg file (personally I made my edit into a loadable mod via OvGME so I can turn it off for updates and turn it back on afterwards). You'll notice that every time DCS updates, or you select the option in the repair tool, it'll move the foreign files into a backup folder in the core installation, so you can copy them back if you wish
