Long loading time on Syria map after yesterdays major patch (AH-64D, in VR)

Recommended Posts

Loading into the Syria map takes a long time before being stable.

I spawn in the AH-64D, but the it seems that the sim starts loading textures, which takes a very long time.

During this time FPS flucturates between 3 an 30 FPS and only become stable after appr. 30 sec or so.

I have cleared the fxo and Metashader cache as well as the Nvidia Caches's and tried serveral times, but getting stable FPS after loading is still taking a long time.

Note that this is in VR with a Meta Quest 3 and I did not have this issue before the update.

This happens after every update. It needs to rebuild the shaders the first time you run a map, and for some modules as well it seems. If you delete those folders... Well , then it has to do it again.
Cheers!

Yep I know

But now it's not just e one time occurence, but happens with any subsequent loading into the Map.

I see. I have seen reports of strange things happening in the Saved Games folders. Maybe the shaders are purged when one shuts down DCS? Have you looked in the DCS log? I use a live log viewer to monitor the log whenever I start DCS/mission.
