Baltic Dragon campaign: where on earth were 3 and 4 heading off to?

At the end of the first mission, 1 tells 3/4 and 5/6 to orbit (5 is player) while he lands. He landed, and then 3 and 4 just fly off into the wild blue yonder. I waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited and waited, then decided "screw this, mission's broken", switched off my radios and went in to land.

Were they supposed to do that? Where were they going? IRL I could of course ask them on the radio, and I did look in the radio menus to see if there was an option there, but nothing.

When I put my gear down, I noticed the player requesting clearance to land, so put the radios back on.

When I noticed my gear wasn't working, my first impression wasn't "oh no my gear's not working" but "well, I guess the mission scripting is broken again" and so I simply pulled the alt gear handle immediately, and landed. Then I get to enjoy hearing the radio chatter for trouble-shooting steps and setting manual flaps and whatnot that I didn't do (because I don't know the procedures. that was the first time I've used the alt-gear handle )

Yep, same here! You are ordered to anchor first (5 and 6) then second element (3 and 4) but then they build up speed and altitude and go away... and I waited and waited... then I went for H4 to land... it all went great on final but never saw 3 and 4 again !!!
