RWR Symbology - Unknown with dots inside U. What do the dots signify?

When the RWR detects a radar that is not in its "known radar" library it displays a U symbol . I have noticed that often the U has a number of dots inside the symbol (see attached screenshots - one displaying the unknown radar of a Grisha class corvette (one dot inside the U) and the other of the unknown radar of a Molniya class frigate (three dots inside the U symbol).

What is the significance of the dots?

Hi, the number of dots indicates the band in which the unknown radar is detected:

  • one - low band
  • two - mid band
  • three - high band

This will info be added to the manual soon 😉

For ALR-46 it's more or less like that in NATO designation system:

  • Low band: E/F
  • Medium band: G/H
  • High band: I/J
