WWII TOE? Convoys? Recon\ Assault Columns?

Over in the modern world someone had put together a great resource for how to configure reasonably realistic unit combinations for various formation types.

Anyone seen something similar for WWII?

In particular, I was wondering what a Supply convoy, recon column, heavy assault column should look like.  (Of course constrained by what we have available.)

 

Like a supply convoy.  Trucks I got. I worked that part out for myself.

Would it have armor at the front?  Or rear?  Or both?  Or nothing?

Or jeeps? 

 

Would it bring any kind of AA along with it?  Do we have something close to what they might have used for air defense in a column?  Or would they simply hope for air cover?
