Jack McCoy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 The "furniture" inside the hardened aircraft shelters / hangars appear useless to me and represent 24 textured triangles more to potentially draw. Useless, unless you show me how to open the door. :music_whistling: -- And is that a shadow of the door? I only have "Active Planar" for shadows. It doesn't look like a baked shadow, but it ain't a computed shadow either, since differently-facing hangars have the same dark polygon. i7-7700K@4.8GHz, 16Gb-3200, GTX-1080Ti-Strix-11Gb, Maximus IX Hero, Oculus Rift, Thrustmaster Warthog+F/A-18C, Logitech G940 Pedals.
EtherealN Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Doors open if aircraft are parked in them and taxi out. And most GPU's will remove triangles that do not fall within line of sight (depending on engine code ofc), and 24 triangles out of the millions that a semi-modern GPU can process per second isn't really going to cause any problems. I wouldn't be surprised if the code to discriminate on whether the door is open or not would draw more power than keeping those 24 within the normal pipeline... Jack McCoy Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Doors open if aircraft are parked in them and taxi out. Then I guess we need some interior! I have not yet witnessed a door opening.
