Map View Issues on Multiplayer in VR

I'm putting this here as I have heard from someone else that the map pan and zoom in / out is fine of flat screens (but this may also be an issue for flat screens). When I connect to a multiplayer server and go to spectator view, I can't control the map using mouse wheel to zoom in and out nor does left click and drag to pan the map. I first have to select the + magnifying glass at the top, draw a box to zoom in on the map and then deselect the magnifying glass. I can then use the mouse wheel and left click to manipulate the map. 

Additionally, when I am on the coalition dynamic slot selection screen, I cannot zoom or pan the map. This is problematic as I would like to be able to zoom in to see the bases we control in order to choose one to spawn at.
