Migo Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Hey folks, I recently bought the Harrier and am now stuck in the training mission for aerial refueling. In the past I've done AAR in other planes like the F/A-18 or the A-10c without too much struggling. The problem is that whenever I am nearing the probe of the Harrier to around 5 meters behind the refueling basket, the tanker comes with the "Break away! Break away! Break away!" status. It's pretty frustrating. Are some of you able to finish the AAR training mission with the current DCS patch version and can give me some tips? I already watched a tutorial on YouTube but it seems I cannot even reach the distance from the tutorial because I get the "Break away!" way earlier. Thanks a lot in advance.
AndyJWest Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 The 'break away' message seems to be triggered too easily, but you can just ignore it and still connect. As for tips, the Harrier is tricky in AAR, due to the location of the probe. As always ensure you are properly trimmed, and try to focus on the refueling aircraft rather than chasing the basket. 1 1
Migo Posted August 15, 2024 Author Posted August 15, 2024 Thanks for the advice Andy. I could connect a few times now.
