maxTRX Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 V1.30.01 has been up for a while on Pimax d/l page. I'll probably hang in till some major updates later on... if I need to. Well, currently I'm only playing one solid game (ACC) and performance is great, no view drifting (provided certain amount of ambient light is present) and NO CRASHES... just my R8 coming out of the carousel on Nordschleife I know, I know... once I go back to flight simming my happiness might fade away a bit.

I have upgraded to latest and now within the headset the image is constantly flickering for any program and within Pimax Play any suggestions. Also I have put in a ticket ref firmware. Update Uninstalled Pimax Play removed all traces from registry etc. Disconnected headset completely and removed battery and reinstalled Pimax Play Reboot connect headset direct to pc after a short test in DCS no flickering [yet] will test more tomorrow. Calvin.Pimax Posted September 20, 2024 Author Posted September 20, 2024 Hello @paul2437 How was the testing going?
paul2437 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Hi Calvin Nico at pimax is going to do a remote session next week to address the firmware issue. At the moment its intermittent stability at 72hz works OK for about an hour before stuttering starts at 90-120hz its minutes. I don't know if its the headset or my PC or a combination of both. No flickering in headset after BIOS upgrade.

Keith Briscoe Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 @Calvin.Pimax Do the log files stay somewhere on my PC. I just had another very frustrating session, but shut down pc before thinking about grabbing logs to finally send to folks at Pimax. May be similar to above like @paul2437, I have 14900 and 4090 with 64gb ram... but I also did Intel bios update as recommended. I've had problems with Headset tracking from before and after that bios update. Can't tell if these are headset crashes or game crashes. Happens in both DCS and Assetto Corsa Competizione.

I had to set my BIOS to default settings uninstall all pimax software and remove from registry all XR related programs including quadviews then reinstall to see an improvement. But I also had a firmware issue that was fixed by PImax tech support See Below another issue solved Edited September 27, 2024 by paul2437
Keith Briscoe Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 @paul2437 Is this to say that you are back to totally fixed on Pimax PCL VR stability? No floating / bad tracking anymore? Running at 90hz? No game/headset crashes? I sure hope so for you. Also, sorry for the technical question but how do you 'remove from registry all XR and quadview programs'? Thank you!!

At 72hz its stable for me. I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove XR toolkit etc then regedit to get rid of what was left. Image below is my registry after reinstalling everything. Initially i was going to uninstall DCS and come back in a year it became to frustrating changing one setting that would change another. Pimax Play also had issues as I had corrupted firmware don't ask me how I have no idea. That was fixed via a remote link to Niko @ Pimax in China. I am hoping the next DCS and Pimaxplay updates make significant changes if not i'll hang up my joystick for a while. Edited September 28, 2024 by paul2437 1
Targanon Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 (edited) in the image below the point I started the pimax play app is the point of the jump in cpu usage.. while the usage is not much of a count for me I have plenty itrs the jump in heat and the watts that is bothering me. I'm currently runnning the latest Pimax Play 1.33.02.01 and the latest headset Firmware. v1.0.10 you can see the max temp on the CPU spiked at 100c in the max value. prior to getting the PMCL my cpu has never been this high. the spike was At start of the pimax play app... cpu is 13900k @ 5.4ghz recnt Bios update to address the intel failure acknowledgement Last month.. so it not ramping up from some wacked out OC settings.. Calvin.Pimax Posted October 22, 2024 Author Posted October 22, 2024 What is your current PC system setup? Have you tried reverting to an earlier version of Pimax Play to see if the CPU still spikes to 100°C? Please note that the PCL's tracking is managed by the CPU, which can increase utilization compared to others.
WipeUout Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 11 hours ago, Targanon said: you can see the max temp on the CPU spiked at 100c in the max value. Assuming you have the most recent BOIS update done, this should not happen. If your CPU is reaching 100 deg C, it means that the safe intel limits in the BIOS are not being applied. With the safe limits, your CPU will drop clock speed as to not reach thermal throttling. You should reset your BOIS setting to default and then try again to see if you get the same behavior. If it reaches 100C again on default settings, you should RMA your CPU. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9800X3D, RTX 4090, 96GB DDR 5, MSI Tomahawk 870E, Crucial 2TB x 2, TM WARTHOG COMBO + PENDULAR RUDDER PEDALS, THE AMAZING PIMAX 8K X, Sony 5.1 Spks+SubW | DCS, A-10C_II, AH-64D, F-14/15E/16/18, F-86F, AV-8B, M-2000C, SA342, Huey, Spitfire, FC3.
Spinkymoto Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Sorry to rehash an old problem, but I've just updated the firmware (V1.0.16) on the Pimax Crystal Light and it's gone 'horrible'. Delayed head turn and 'wobbling' makes DCS unplayable. Any thoughts and advice welcome how to turn back Firmware update to 14?

Moxica Posted May 29 Posted May 29 (edited) With latest firmware I have found: Pimax client 1.39.2 works without wobble/swim if you do not use Mbucchia Quad-Views-Foveated Latest client software wobbles regardless. Best solution at the moment (for me) is latest firmware, Pimax client .1.39.2 and no QuadViews companion. -Sadly, I'm back to more mediocre framerate, bu at least the cockpit is stable.
