  1. Thank you all sooo much for the input... I just tried the 60hz with NO motion repro. A bit lower graphics settings within DCS. With this, I get perfectly steady 60fps, pretty good eye candy, and basically no stutters! Very cool. I feel I can maybe tell "something" different than the 90hz but I have a feeling I would get used to it, and certainly no bad eye or head effects yet. Going to try this a bit more and see if it's the right balance. Then, go back and re-try the 90hz WITH motion repro. @BIGNEWY @Dangerzone For you two on 90hz... would you care to share what other in-game (or other) graphics settings you've adjusted down to help you maintain 90 fps? Thanks again.
  2. Yeah, pick your poison seems to be a good phrase here. I'm about 2 weeks or so into VR - absolutely loving it - but still figuring out which and how settings / apps / features contribute or take away from the experience.
  3. Was continuing testing with settings and found that I have to have OpenXR motion reprojection on (unlocked) to keep smooth visuals. I have 14900 and 4090 with reverb g2. I can use pretty high graphics settings in game (lowering doesn't seem to impact) and I get 90 fps at times, mid altitude and away from stuff, but when I look to sides or generally fly lower it goes to 45. I'm not complaining because it l9oks good and is quite smooth. Just wondering if it is in fact the motion repro that is a requirement. Only other detail for my settings... I'm using 120% resolution (gosh, can't remember which app was used to set that)... that may be one more thing I'll test reducing to 100% and turning off motion repro. What are the downsides if any of motion repro? perhaps none!
  4. I just upgraded PCs. I was anxious about losing all my bindings... However, it was strangely easy to get it all to work - - the advice and steps above are exactly what I did.
  5. I'm still new in VR and working through all the various settings. New pc specs: 14900kf, 4090, 32gb ram (soon with 64), Reverb G2 v2 I can great visuals and strong fps, up to 90 and min 45. Only things that bugs me are: a) flickering / changing shapes (?) of trees as I get close to them, and b) the "filling in" effect of the forest as I approach Can anyone share which settings or combo of settings might improve these two effects? Thanks.
  6. New pc, so ironing thing out. Devices working fine, etc. But, every time I start/restart pc, I get a not that SimappPro wants to do some sort of update. I appear to be on 1.13.1 right now. Is there an update I'm missing perhaps, or something else to check. Thanks.
  7. Hello @=Andre= and other SimShaker lovers! I have a new PC arriving tomorrow. Anything specific I should do to get back up and running with Simshaker (dcs) on new pc with regard to files, saved files, license, etc.? Thanks in advance.
  8. It seems you are on to something... if I hadn't spent 2.5 hours trying everything, and ultimately resetting back to default settings... I would have see tour post and it would have opened my eyes. In my efforts I finally noticed that the game was no longer using the VR page for graphics settings (which I've obviously made to be much lower). So, in the end this was at least educational... if something awry in the future, I will know where to look first. I'm back to a pretty steady 45fps, with some drops to 30 temporarily in specific situations. In the process, I also learned a but more about OpenXR toolkit/companion. Thanks again.
  9. Just tracking down my steps... I think the problem started after I started and played DCS in 2d on monitor AFTER I had gotten all the VR stuff to work. No idea if that helps identify a possible problem source.
  10. all good there. I started with DCS on monitor with TrackIR; so I know how to use that. Thanks.
  11. Appreciate your patience and I understand I don't really have a specific question. I've seen references in other threads/posts about things like, "here's what I did..."; or "try uninstalling XYZ"; or "only open programs in this order..." If anyone has suggestions, I appreciate it. I got a taste of VR, and it was delicious - so I want to go back for more...
  12. Ok... could it be voice attack? I'm not at my gaming pc now to test. But that may be the only thing that is different.... now that I think of it, no.. I believe I had VA running while I was getting very good performance. I just can't think of anything else that's running in the background. Are any of the dcs EXE's more or less likely to have good performance? I guess not since you're saying MT is default and I notice in lower right that it is in MT mode whenever i launch in VR.
