[Request] Center Mouse Cursor Command Please? Limit Mouse To Visible VR View?

Recommended Posts

I can't tell you how many times I have "lost" my mouse cursor while in VR. I wiggle it around and it's nowhere to be seen. I catch a glimpse out of the corner of my eye and look over there, but no mouse cursor.

Pretty please may we have a command to center the mouse cursor on screen in front of us?
Also, how about an option to limit the mouse cursor to remain within the VR field of view. When I "lose it" it's most often outside my VR view.

Thanks.

This would be a great thing to have, even just as a keybind. The way the mouse moves/displays in VR has always been jank, and it would solve a lot of frustration.

Personally I have to switch to F10 to find the mouse cursor a lot of the time. And while that's not ideal for me, for other users with F10 performance issues that's not really an option at all.

I find that hitting ESC to open that menu often helps me find it. Using the F10 map is a good idea, might try it.

Myself and a few others  use voice attack . You can make a command  that when you say mouse it centers it in the hud.

Wait what? I too use voice attack. What command can you make that centers the mouse in the VR view?
"Center in HUD" is useful in aircraft with a HUD. Huey and such tho, not so much.
The more I think about it, simply an option to "Restrict mouse to VR view" would be SO freakin awesome. Most of the time when I "lose" the mouse cursor it's outside my VR view. Which is needless and .... Why?

Showing the mouse in center of your view with a command would be perfect. That way you can use it in VR to push buttons with head movement and left/right click mapped

There are several mouse cursor customisable options that could be made. Here's a few suggestions:

- Bring the cursor in view, centered (as suggested in this thread)

- Cursor sizing/fading options (ie. start big, then become smaller after x seconds to find it)

- Cursor relative position options (this has been suggested before, a lot, but basically; keeping the cursors position relative to VIEW direction, or COCKPIT position. For example, if you left the cursor on a specific switch, then looked around, the cursor would still be sitting on that switch despite you having looked around - this eliminates the tiny amount of 'jiggling' that can be experienced with position sensing in VR, allows accurate button presses, keeps cursor on a rotary as you scroll your mouse wheel, etc)

- Cursor colours, transparency, shape etc

The cursor relative position as a selectable option is my personal favourite.

@artao  Sorry it took so long

Get DCS running in VR sitting in the cockpit tab out and Open Voice attack. In the upper right hand corner click on the symbol that looks like a pencil in a square box. Now click on NEW Command on this screen you will need to have "when I say" checked then type in what command that you want (for me I just say "mouse"). In the middle of this screen click Mouse Box then the Move Box this will pull up another screen and on this one you will click SET.This does not set the mouse position it just get everything ready. Another screen comes up saying to position your mouse curser and then pres F8. Pop back into DCS position your curser and press F8 then tab back to VA click OK to close out of that screen then ok again. You should be back to the "add command screen" with the move mouse entry line showing. Click the Mouse Box on more time and this time select the Click Box. Then select left click then ok . Now save and apply .  In game when I say mouse  it will center in my VR View no matter where I'm looking. I hope this all make sense.

GOOD GOD Relative position would be awesome. I find it very frustrating that the cursor moves with where I look. Cursor color and transparency I hadn't considered, but that indeed would be very nice.

Thank you much. I'm certainly going to try this. 😄
