I tried VD in MSFS yesterday and it was a major improvement in visuals, way more clear and smoother. So I tried it in DCS and right out of the gate, the right eye was smooth and clear no tearing, but the left eye kept "jumping" like I was moving my head very fast slightly up, down, left right.

Anyone else experience this and was you able to adjust something to stop it?

I can no longer get DCS to launch in VR when I'm using Virtual Desktop (Quest 2 version). Dang.

Is VDXR set as the runtime in the desktop streamer app? Are you on Steam or Standalone? Are you running the MT version? Is it just launching to 2D? Drop your C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS\Logs\dcs.log here for review. Make sure you launch all the way into the game, even if it’s going to 2D. Also make sure you’re using the recommended video card drivers for VirtualDesktop. If you’re using the new DCS launcher make sure the little man with googles is selected by the big orange Launch button. You can confirm by looking at the VR menu in the game to see if the Enable VR headsets box is ticked. I can probably feel from the log at least one or more of potential problems, so drop that here and validate the other items I’ve listed.

dcs - CDRKrotchetyUSN.log - From Yesterday, but without starting a mission...

Thanks for that. Ok, I can see from the log that it isn’t detecting a connected headset. So we don’t pollute this thread of the original poster, as we’re talking about different issues now, can you message me directly and we can investigate further.

This is my settings on the desktop, also make sure you have the latest version in the headset and the client on the PC. I had not used it since I bought it a year or so ago until recently, now its the only way I do VR. So much faster for me. Also note that DCS was crashing for me when I tried to use the AV1 codec, I had good luck with the HEVC 10-bitnull

Restarting my headset fixed my problem.

Thanks, DCoffey!

Yes indeed, my VD settings mirrored yours.  After trying all the graciously suggested fixes, which were essential actually, the final piece of the puzzle was to (drum roll...) UPDATE my nVidia driver! Doh!  I'm running an i9-9900 Crystal Lake, 32gb RAM and, wait for it...

nVidia RTX A2000 12gb graphics workstation GPU.  Haha! not what one expects to be able to run a video game, but it works quite well even if it did fit in my budget. And I mean Budget.  The main reason I have this PC is 3d CAD/CAM operations, but it does often find itself pushing VR pixels into DCS and Ghosts of Tabor, Half-Life Alyx, Beat Saber, etc.

I'm really pleased with the clarity and smoothness that my obsolete equipment provides.

Again, much thanks.
