S-GERAT Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Recently upgraded from a G2 to a Crystal headset and have encountered significant issues with motion reprojection. When using OpenXR, enabling smart smoothing seems to have no effect or causes flashing artifacts on the screen. With SteamVR, the reprojection is erratic, not locking to the expected 72 or 36 fps, leading to a stuttering experience. Additionally, I've noticed that in DCS, limiting the fps to 36 yields inconsistent results. Initially, there's stuttering, possibly due to texture or asset loading. However, after some time flying over the same area, the performance smooths out and I turns butter smooth. At this point I can assure that the experience is ideal. The visual quality and FOV are far superior than the G2, And the comfort of the headset seems good, but the lack of fluid motion is concerning. From my research, it appears that these reprojection issues have been ongoing for some time. Fluidity in VR is crucial for me, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance or advice you could provide to resolve these problems. Tried in a 7800x3D, 64GB Ram, 4090 and Nvme drive. After some hours I even make a new windows installation but remains the same. Thanks
Calvin.Pimax Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 We’re aware that smart smoothing is not working properly. The dev team is scheduled to rework this feature.

Thanks you, yesterday achieved some perfect flights.. but seems that there are problems from DCS side too, need to make a try in the other sims to compare. I'm trying to get access to the beta too.. with no success for now.
Calvin.Pimax Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Roger that! Regarding the OpenXR patch, please check your DM for details.
