Colvike Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Trying to configure my Orion rudder pedals for helicopter flying. I currently have the spring removed and just using the damper. I feel the damper is too loose and would like to understand how to adjust the tension. is there only a few positions to adjust or does it get tighter the more I turn the knob ? it does not appear to get any better the more I turn the knob so I am concerned that there may be something wrong. thanks
YSIAD_RIP Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 The Damper has about 25 settings. You should be able to easily pull it in and out at the lowest setting of 1 (S). On setting 25 (H) it should be very hard to pull in and out. My Damper is probably defective because at settings higher than 10 it hangs and sticks and is inconsistent in the damping. I will get around to putting in a ticket when I get a chance. I have another damper from my older rudder set that was modified and that damper works much better on my Orion than the OEM one that shipped.
