Aronis Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 I have added the WinWing setup including ICP, MDF, Takeoff Panel, F16 Orion Stick and Throttle and Skywalker Petals. All great stuff. Work great after learning how to tune everything, but I get USB disconnects randomly, but only BRIEFLY, so I rarely loose control of the plane, just once in a while the ICP display goes off and I have to turn off that USB and turn back on to get the display up and running while in flight. The disconnect of the TrackIR is particularly challenging when you are coming in for a landing LOL. I'm using a high power USB hub with individual switches (upgrade from prior one hoping that would fix it). I found all the USB power settings including the ones hidden inside the Human Interface section under Device Manager and turned off the sleep USB device settings. Turned off the Razer software for the keyboard and mouse options. Tried using a wired mouse instead of the Razer BT mouse. I Disabled the Steam updater (steam on there for other games, not DCS). Did firmware updates on all the Winwing devices. This issue predated my addition of the F16 Orion setup and the Skywalker pedals. So final option, upgrade my computer. I am running an older ASUS Crosshair Formula and Ryzen 5 CPU, that were both bought new in 2020 (I had to replace my first Crosshair Formula (? 9 years old?) that died about 8 months ago, by taking it from my other son's unused PC that I built for him in 2020 clone of the first so no fighting, figured that motherboard had less hours on it and would last). Now waiting on package from my friends at B&H Photo. Ordered last night 10 pm, shipped, arrives tomorrow. Because of their excellent service, I spend too much money with them. New set up will be a Asus Crosshair X607E and Ryzen 9 7950 X3D, I already have a nice Video Card, Asus 4070 Ti and plenty of RAM, and M.2 Drives, and 1200 Watt PS. So let's see if that fixes the issue. Or at least make a more stable running system as this one likes to mess up and need to "automatically repair" itself once a month or so. Not sure if there is an issue with the MB or m.2 SSD, who the hell knows. My mac's are always rock solid. Mike (I spent my vacation weeks painting my Family Room and Foyer, 17 foot ceilings including ceiling paint, primer, two coats, hallway's up and down, and the kitchen, so saved $5000 or more DIY, so screw it, new computer parts)
Aronis Posted September 26, 2024 Author Posted September 26, 2024 That did it. LOL. Running great. Now to master landing without crashing..... Mike
