Keith Briscoe Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 I've noticed the "TDC" drifting, usually UP, in all modules (f16, f18, a10c-II). Will SimAppPro allow me to fix this? If so, appreciate any guidance. Thank you.
rob10 Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Your easiest solution is to add a 1 or 2 deadzone in the vertical axis tuning for the TDC. Also check that you don't have a double bind that's giving you wanted input. 1
Keith Briscoe Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 Unfortunately, I can even see this drift in SimAppPro. I can adjust / set a deadzone directly in SAP OR, click a check box and the slider to adjust deadzone goes away. I've tried both methods but the drift randomly occurs either way. Any additional thoughts folks? Is this perhaps just a degraded/degrading sensor?? Thanks.
rob10 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 (edited) Does sound like a sticky TDC or sensor issue. Random since basically the stick wasn't perfectly re-centring every time after you moved it which left a little bit of input sometimes after you released it. Usually a little bit of deadzone in DCS would zero it out. The stock Warthog throttle was notorious for this but TBH I haven't seen it on my original Orion WW throttle. Keith Briscoe Posted October 10, 2024 Author Posted October 10, 2024 I did try the deadzones both in SAP and directly in the DCS control settings - but the floating would still randomly occur (even while I was just in SAP and watching the trace of the input). Then, I noticed in SimAppPro an option to change this control from "round" to "square"... I had it set on Round. I changed to Square and it 'seems' to be better now (I still do have a small deadzone set). Fingers crossed.
