Pimax VR & DCS- To Steam or Not?

How many people here are running Pimax through SteamVR with DCS, and how many are not? 

If you are running through steam - can you please give your reasons why? 

Years ago I ran through steam, but then when OpenXR came available, I switched and found it far superiour and have never looked back. After seeing that someone is using FPSVR in Steam while in DCS - I was wondering how many actually use this, and if there's a performance difference going through steam or if it's still far more efficient to avoid steam?

Every couple of months, I go back at steam VR only to see and realize again how much I loose performance with this runtime.  On average, to get that same quality, I will end up with 1.5 to 2.5 ms increase in GPU frametime compared to OXR which make the difference between playable and not-playable.  One big difference is the ability to use QVFR with OpenXR runtime, with SteamVR you are limited to FFR (not sure about DFR, I have a Pimax 8KX and do ot use DFR) that offers some increased performance but not as much as QVFR.

I am - and performance is good and stable. Average framerate is 67fps. When the latest Pimax Play is stable I'll go to OpenXR direct, but in the meantime, SteamVR is doing a good job in busy SP missions and if it ain't broke...

Never installed Steam again after Valve Index. Happy the way Pimax software is developing. Not there yet but as long as Pimax keeps developing we will get there. (I hope  )
