I'm going to be moving DCS to an M.2 drive.    I plan to copy my install folder to my c'/: drive, install my new M.2 drive and then copy my DCS folder from c; to J: (new M.2)

Question....   How do I point the DCS launcher to my new SIM location?

If this is Steam, you cannot do it that way. But it is very easy. In the Steam app you just define a new, (additional), Steam Library location on the new drive. Then you select DCS and right click, settings, move and select the new Steam Library.
Easy peasy! Cheers!

EDIT: Read it again. Are you swapping out a drive? Then you can just temporarily copy the Steam Library on the existing drive to ie. C:\ Then install the new drive. Give it the same drive name. Copy back.
That's it.

Another option is to install the Standalone version of DCS on your new drive. This will give you things such as 2 week free trials of planes and maps, as well as ED miles to go towards purchases of other planes/maps. Any modules that you have purchased on Steam can be transferred to Standalone.

Just download the DCS installer from the web site and run it. It should attempt to find an existing Steam installation and copy the files from there so you don't have to do a full download.
