Mekako Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Hi, Almost every time I try to send text messages, waypoints, RFHO, etc. the recipient receives it double. When my colleague try to send anything to me the same happens. I mean, If I send a free text message saying “HI”, the recipient receives two messages from me saying “HI”. Anyone having this isue? Could It be due to a data link configuration error? We choose two slots from the same origin and we apply data link settings in the cockpits, not from the editor. I did a simple search in this forum but didn’t find anything related, sorry if it was posted before. Thanks in advance. LorenLuke Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Were you using the FM radios? This issue had occurred to me as well, but only with FM radio usage. I can't say for certain why, try ensuring that both your FM radio presets are on different frequencies, as it might somehow be sending from both FM1 and FM2 (whether that's correct to the aircraft or not), and therefore your teammate picking up two broadcasts.
Floyd1212 Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Yes, we get double messages all the time. For a while we thought it was only when there was a human in both seats, but it happens even when solo, too. it was mentioned in a big report a while back, but it has not been resolved yet. We do use FM1 for DL most often, but FM2 is on a different frequency. We will have to try VHF/UHF and see if we get it there as well.
Mekako Posted October 17, 2024 Author Posted October 17, 2024 Thanks to both of you. On 10/16/2024 at 1:50 AM, LorenLuke said: Were you using the FM radios? Yes we were using FM2. Both radios with different frequencies. On 10/16/2024 at 7:09 AM, Floyd1212 said: Yes, we get double messages all the time. I doubt this is something that happens in the real aircraft but obviously I don’t know for sure. We’ll try UHF aswell to see what happens. Today doing a mission with a colleague noticed that after a respawn the problem disapeared during the mission. We’ll see next time. 336_TheAngryGamer Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 There is a setting in the comms menu in the Apache regarding retry attempts for unanswered data link messages. Thus is causing this because it is resending the message again because the original was not acknowledged. You can adjust this. I can not tell you exactly where this is because I am not home to look.
