CAT_101st Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) Ok after many weaks of no problem playing and mission building. I have run into a problem. I built a mission with 100+ static OBJ's and sevral live units. and one hidin convoy to start whin a target is destroyed. After the target is destroyed I get a crash. I fixed this problem by removing 80% of the static OBJ's. But I have found that the crash has caused my PC not to be able to opne the singel player EXE. I do a reboot and same problem. So I do a compleat shutdown and that fixes the problem. but after playing multiplayer the problem is back. even thoe I did not play the mission stated above. Her is the error AppName: launcher.exe AppVer:0.0.0.0 ModName:nvoglnt.dll ModVer:6014.11.8585 Offset 00416d99 Running the 1st releas of rusian BS DL Nvida driver 185.85 I have dun a compleat uninstall of drivers and reinstall with no luck. The same error has happend with and with out DcsMax. I hav dun every thing that I can think of to fix the problem with no luck. :helpsmilie: I am realy gitting tired of restarting my PC to go into the ME to edit a mission after playing in MP. :wallbash: Edited June 2, 2009 by CAT_101st Home built PC Win 10 Pro 64bit, MB ASUS Z170 WS, 6700K, EVGA 1080Ti Hybrid, 32GB DDR4 3200, Thermaltake 120x360 RAD, Custom built A-10C sim pit, TM WARTHOG HOTAS, Cougar MFD's, 3D printed UFC and Saitek rudders. Panzertard Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Nvidia OpenGL library? Hm, are all the crashes allways reffering to this DLL? Have you tuned / changed any Nvidida settings lately? And if you havent done it, rule out any disk related problems raight away by running a CMD prompt: CHKDSK C: /F and for all relevant disks you may have, CHKDSK D: /F etc. (Reboots may be required). Let's start there and see where we end up. ;) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
EtherealN Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 To be honest, the fact that the problem was solved through removing objects indicates either a memory shortage or possibly a memory leak somewhere in the OBJ-related code. The fact that it has spawned another error is confusing though - might be correlation without causation, so definitely do what Panzertard suggested. Do you have nHancer running any OpenGL-compatibility modes for you? CAT_101st Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) No on the nHancer. and the down grading of the mision ony stoped the missions from crashing. Althue I did find another crash of the same sort. After the mission I was on with others on line. I tuned the radio to my Merc radio station I have instaled in to most of my missions. I tuned to the station and ass it started to play I got a crash. Just locks the game not my system. So the mission problem seams to be with the loading of new process during the game play. At least for me. I will try the Scandisk and see what comes up. I will get back in a few hours. edit: dll= Only the crashes to the starting of the singel player EXE. Panzertard Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Cat, how's it working out for you? We love puzzles and great mysteries - just waiting to hear if there's another chapter to your story :) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
CAT_101st Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Ok chapter 2 So I uninstall all the video drivers including the drivers for my mother boars hybrid support. Reinstall every thing used my CD that came with the MB then installed the 185.85 driver for the 8800GT and did a reboot. PC boots up fine and I get this message. Your video card is not gitting enough power and will be lowered to a setting to compansate for the lack of juce. So insted of running at 670Mh stock speed. it is at like 300Mh and cant play any game worth a dam. nTune wont OC the card just keeps jumping back to the 300. So I uninstall the MB drivers and start over with out installing the MB chipset driver./ So now the 8800gt is at 670mh but I still cant OC it and it is running like cr@p still. I just Dl'd the lates drivers for my MB and will be doing it all over agin. And just so you know nun of this is afecting the DCS BS game play still have 30+FPS due to CPU at 3.8gh :) And still gitting the no singel player after playing MP game. :(. I may be going back a to a earlyer driver. Panzertard Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) Cat, to me it sounds like you're having some sort of hardware issue here. Normally I would suspect either GPU, PSU or the motherboard in such a situation. Now this is me - how I probalbly would do it ... Normally in a situation like that I would have tested and crossreferenced with other spareparts to verify if there's a component about to fail. In that kind of situation I wouldnt think of O/C anything until I had a stable baseline. Also - quite often, bad connections could be part of the problem - and would be resolved when you keep on unpliging and replug components. Check other cables while you're at it. If I couldnt pick out any single component as a suspected culprit I would try with a fresh, new install of Windows - on a spare harddrive. And unplug the other harddrives and surplus compnents while I was at it - to eliminiate other issues such as PSU issues. This methods also eliminates any previous software issues. Or should. By then - if I hadnt resolved it, I would have been p***** enough to throw the s*** out the window and bought a new one :p But let's hear if there's anyone else with similar experiences and solutions here. --- Just a final EDIT: Not sure how old PSU is. They do wear down, I think there's a thumb rule out there saying you may loose ~10% of it's effect per yer. Not sure. That and they only produce ~80% of their capacity. So a 3 year old 850W supply may only output ~495W. That shouldnt be a problem in a normal system - but if you're loaded with disks and extra equiment you might be getting close to putting a strain on the PSU. And PSU that work close to their limits starts to spike and produce poor quality DC for the components. Okai - Im not an expert here, but I would keep it in mind if you are within the parameters of such an event. The other thing that you may experience is a weardown - which may have been accelerated by O/C. Seen it on my own components over the years, some prolonged exposure to O/C may wear down some GPU prematurely in terms of expected lifetime. But let's hear from other who may have some ideas for you. :) Edited June 5, 2009 by Panzertard The mind is like a parachute. CAT_101st Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 I don't keep my GPU OC'd I OC only when I am going to be playing. THe PSU is less than 8 months old. And the MB driver update has fixed the problem with the power problem. I had the same problem with the card when it was new. AS for the rest of my system the RAM is my weak point right now. Running Kingstun value ram. I need some good 1066 DDR2. I havent checked if BS is still having problems yeat. I will do that tonight after building another mission or two. CAT_101st Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 Well looks like reinstalling and updating drivers fixed the problem. Both the multy player and singel are working with no problums.
