Some time ago I went through several iterations to setup my controlers (Saitek X52, Rudder Pedals, ProGamer Controller; CH Throttle Quadrant) in BS.

I'm quite happy with the setup, but...

...I installed Windows7-64 RC on a different boot HD so I can switch between XP an Win7.

Then reinstalled BS (works fine as far as now).

Now the migration starts: all controlers are supported but they have a different sort order and their GUIDs are different.

Grand question:

Is there a way how I can use/migrate my current setup?

Just save profiles of all controllers under old OS, start W7, goto OPTIONS - CONTROLLERS and make LOAD PROFILE for each controller.

Added. Second way:

start W7, goto OPTIONS - CONTROLLERS, press OK and exit game (this step is necessary in order to get new joystick GUID's). Run any file manager, go <game_dir>\Config\Input\Aircrafts\ka-50\joystick\, you can see custom joystick profiles. Now copy old profiles into this folder and rename them:

<old_profile_name.lua> <--- <W7_profile_name.lua>

(this example - for "real" mode). So, after that you have to see custom profiles with old content, but with new names (GUID).

Thanks, I try that

I figured that this is the way to go and tried something like that, but didn't succeed.

I'll try it on the weekend by striktly following your advice.

When I'm done, I'll post my results.

BTW: LOAD PROFILE for each controller ? I'm not quite sure how to do this, I thought the save option in the controller menu is global ?!?

Anyway, I'll try the copy method as well.

Thanks again:)

Thanks USSR_Rik, I've got it.

I retried the 2nd method, renaming the lua files, and it worked fine.

So for my system it looked like this:

HDD:\DCS\Ka-50\Config\Input\Aircrafts\ka-50\joystick\

Copied my XP .lua files to this directory, so I got something like:

Saitek X52 Flight Control System {BAFA60B0-52B6-11de-8006-444553540000}.lua (new)

Saitek X52 Flight Controller {6B0B49E0-1E03-11dd-8001-444553540000}.lua (old)

Renamed all old .lua files there to the new name.
