The quadro K6000, is a bit old, not really targeted for gaming, but so far works good with DCS, MSFS, Steams take on helicopters. but won't work with the newer, X-plane versions.

So, in the above statement you mean on your computers monitor? VR is MUCH more demanding in DCS and MSFS.

I really don't think the K6000 is up to the minimum specks of DCS and you never answered which CPU you have.

Can you make screenshots of your settings in either SteamVR or the OpenXR tools for WMR pls!

I have been trying to get screenshots using 'F12' but doesn't seem to work. Is there any icon or key sequence in DCS, SteamVR, or OpenXR tools to get screenshots?

These tutorials make it look very easy, but when I follow these, the screenshot folder is empty.

OK, back to the beginning. If I run DCS on my desktop, it works geat, the graphics are very good. I get some klunky issues with my Saitek setup.

Now with the reverb, the graphics are incedible, beter than desktop. In DCS (or steam, take on helicopters) the main issue is not having the 3D cockpit lookaround view.

The controllers seem to have limited functionality. My mouse has some terrible latency making it hard to use. The only screenshots I can get are from my windows desktop.

None of the shortcut tutorials work.

I have not been able to find “Enable VR Headsets” is ticked under the VR tab in the DCS settings" this tab.

Folowing the many tutorial videos, this should be easy, but not a single thing in my setup works like that.

When I find DCS, I can open the launcher, but when I press "LAUNCH DCS" I get the next window briefly then it shuts down, and back to SteamVR.

This is the only way I can screenshot DCS after it has launched, there is no screenshot feature I have found.

Here is my VR setting under the VR tab:

Just an odd question, would my hideously slow internet cause any of this?  I am soon to change providers.

Does this mean that other games are great in Reverb, just DCS doesn't work? What games do work? What do you mean by 3D cockpit lookaround view, do you mean DCS in VR headset so you can look around?

In your mouse software try setting the polling rate (this is polling rate and not DPI) to 500 or less.

What shortcuts are you referring to? What tutorials?

Your screenshot of your DCS VR settings does show that the "Enable Virtual Reality Headset" box is ticked.

Can you attach a DCS log file for when this occurs. This issue would probably effect 2D as well but install this (choose the repair option if it's already installed) https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

Internet should not effect this.

To be honest, I don't know what root cause is (attach a log of that failure), but it may just be what others have said...your PC (video card) doesn't support this.

I played a couple Oculus games and those seem to run with no issues, I did finally start take on helicopters, but the display is on the panel, and there is no control at all.

Like my flying egg, starts airborne, climbs vertically to its ceiling, even with the engine shut off. My Saitek controls have no function, no keboard controls function.

AND, the only way I can exit the game is with task manager to end the process.

"" Still no in cockpit view"" Note what I see in the goggles is the same as the panel and my monitor.

YES, that is what I am hoping for.  My best example of in cockpit view:

Black Hawk Landing Tutorial | DCS

So far, all I have done is practicing teaing up blackhawks and dying, the immersion of 3D look around should help, weather flying a jet ranger, MD-530E, or even a Robinson.

I didn´t mean screenshots from DCS. I rather meant from "OpenXR tools for windows" or your SteamVr settings.

Windows has a Snipping tool that is very handy. Just search for it in the Windows search bar at the bottom left.

Hm, I will have to figure that out, so far anything in my VR world, there is no function for screenshots at all.

I have a number of video recordings but cant locate those files.

What do you mean? you don‘t need to be in VR in order to take screenshots of the OpenXR tools for WMR.

Now I am a bit confused, only thing I can say is "THERE ARE NO SCREENSHOT FUNCTIONS" from within reverb and controllers.

NOR is there any screenshot funtion within DCS. I can take photos of my monitor, but have no clue how to map any keys or control buttons for screenshots.

Here is a link to a video that got me started with VR in the first place. This is much my goal and should be the same for anything that flies or rolls on the ground:

What he said, take the headset off. Use your keyboard. Use windows key+shift+s to capture any portion of your screen, including video.

I'll look at your video link to see what's up with it.

That video does nothing, that was a waist of my time.

Find a video that sets up the G2 in VR and follow it.

@RotoDan

As I said, I don´t ask you to be under VR while taking screenshots. Nor do I want screenshots from within DCS (for now).

At no point up to now did you really acknoledge, that you have set WMR as your OpenXR runtime in the "OpenXR tools for Windows Mixed Reality" from the Microsoft store (for free). This program is not to be confused with the "OpenXR toolkit" that you can get from github.

Obviously you're still waiting for screenshots etc. of his OpenXR tools for Windows Mixed Reality config, but just a heads-up that based on the log DCS is attempting to use the WMR runtime if that's helpful.

Should I change this to SteamVR?

OK, this should be really simple, I installed Google Earth VR, It launces and runs just fine save for my very slow internet, Everthing works and the graphics defy desription.

SO, I start DCS, press the launch DCS button, it does launch as viewed on my monitor but in SteamVR all I have is an empty grid floor display, the mirroing is separated.

Acts like DCS is not taking over my VR view in the goggles. I just shut down SteamVR at my desktop, attached is the log file and a couple screenshots of Google Earth VR.

Hey, if you never tried Google Earth VR, you should, it is mind boggling awesome.

@RotoDan, that screenshot of you launching DCS shows the little icon of a computer monitor beside the big launch button. This means it will launch in 2D and not VR, which is also what the log shows. You need to make sure you click on that little monitor icon beside the orange launch button and select the man with the goggles before clicking launch.

Someone else can correct me if I’m wrong (not familiar with that headset) but if the WMR runtime is being used, like it has been in your logs, then you don’t need to have SteamVR up for DCS as you won’t be using that runtime  for DCS.

Before OpenXR became a thing, WMR with SteamVR was the only way to run DCS with the G2. Then there came OpenComposite first and now for quite a while we have native OpenXR support. Many would probably agree that SteamVR is an additional bottleneck. But to run with only WMR you need…uhmmm…have I mentioned „OpenXR tools for WMR“ yet…?!

Alright, that gives me a couple things to play with. I did try that little man with goggles, it seemed to have no effect, then the launch DCS button. I also played with that monitor button, so I see how that works. So, I need to turn of that monitor first, press the face with goggles, then  Lauch DCS, correct?

I do have OpenXR tools installed These screenshots show the whole thing.  So what would be the procedure to launch DCS with SteamVR shut down?

Simply shut down SteamVR or don‘t launch it in the first place. (It probably launches automatically, right?).

just have WMR running and then launch DCS (with VR selected next to the Launch button as described above).

Yes, Steam VR launches automatically. In WMR, there is no launch button I can find. (same with Open XR tools)

Now, with SteamVR running it shows my games in the panel. I can start DCS from there, and in 2D I can select the VR button next to lauch DCS, I get the next panel (15 years of DCS)

In 3D, there is nothing to show, even with the monitor button off. Ta the point where DCS is launched, (the row of games at the bottom,) DCS shuts down completely.

So, someone need to clu me in how to launch DCS from mixed reality.

If only DCS would launch the same as Google EarthVR and Oculus, I would be good to go.
