Molnija1985 Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 Hello Guys, please, until which year did the MiG-21Bis fly in Russia? Was he stationed at any air base within the Caucasus region after 1991? I read that it was officially phased out only in 2013, in the number of 30 pieces. Please, does anyone have any information about the MiG-21Bis in the Caucasus region after 1991, possibly also a photo, articles (also in Russian). I am doing one mission and I would like to make it as believable as possible, I would like to set it in the post-Soviet era, at the latest possible time, when they were still in the VVS armament. Thank you...
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 As far as I can find, the 200~ or so MiG-21s left in service at the break up of the USSR did not enter into RuAF service at all. That said, we have seen Russian pilots operating MiG-21s in Syria, though it didn't look like in an official capacity so they might've been mercenaries. Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
