My 7900 xtx only uses about 5gigs of vram. According to the fps counter.

How does it work? I thought it would pick up the slack while having only 16gigs of ram.

well depends on your settings. usually terrain, textures nd I think shadows.. I bumped up my shadows to High as in med they look funny from a little distance and flash like a strobe.. really wierd..

 

Try bumping up your Textures and terrain settings..
