I thought that disabling Reshade eliminated the flickering, but I just realized it may only reduced them...
312_JS Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I have just found the issue. Setting the ingame Sharpening over 0.91 causes the flickering for me. Setting it to anything from 0 to 0.91 is fine. The Low / Medium / High presets don't touch the previous Sharpening setting, so it was on 1 even when I changed the preset to Low while testing. 1 1

I wondered if this would sort out my flickering, Yes is the answer but I had to turn Sharpening to `0` to completely remove the flickering. Something seems to be amiss here. 1 AMD Ryzen 5, 32 GB DDR4, AMD XFX Radeon RX590 8GB, 27" curved Samsung monitor.
312_JS Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 (edited) I also found out that if I use external post process sharpening (using ReShade) set to a too high a setting (the ingame sharpening is also a post process sharpening), the flickering starts again. Edited December 12, 2024 by 312_JS
Bobstar Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Yes, Sharpening is the issue. I've also had to turn Sharpening down to 0. Obviously not ideal but, it solves the issue. Thanks to @312_JS for the info. Something has gone amiss since the update on the 4th December, any chance of ED doing anything about it in any subsequent updates, bearing in mind they've done absolutely nothing in the last 8 days to help resolve the matter! Well done to all who have contributed to this post and worked through, no doubt, many permutations to eventually come up with a fix. Best Regards. 2
312_JS Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Another interesting thing is that it only happens in a cockpit view. At least to me.
Jeeve79 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 0 sharpening fixed it for me as well. Thanks guys. 1

Bobstar Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 Since the last update my screen is flickering again. Only seems to be on vegetation? Two updates ago screen flickering was present for a number of people and it was fixed by the community by reducing the sharpness bar in settings, see my post dated 4th December. Track File is attached. Sharpness bar is at zero. Any update on whether this is being looked at, there was no mention of it on the forum, Discord or in the latest update. Best Regards. Flicker 1.trk
