Bahger Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) I disabled Force Feedback in the config file and got the trimmer to work in missions but there are just a couple more baffling problems I need to address and I'll be on my way. - Mousewheel zoom does not work in Missions. This means that if I'm not using TrackIR (which I cannot do in daylight) I cannot get close enough to the ABRIS screen for it to be of any tactical use. Edit: Hitting "Esc" twice restores mousewheel zoom. Who knew? - Betty is AWOL. I get text warning messages, no voice. - Ditto voice comms from wingmen. - And the tutorial voiceover failed, too. I'm running BS on a very high-end new system so I'm a bit baffled by the failure of what appears to be an audio channel. Do I need to reinstall? Thanks in anticipation for your help. GGTharos Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Have you checked your audio settings in black shark to make certain everything's okay there? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Panzertard Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 - Mousewheel, yes thats the cure for that one until the next patch. The rest - wasnt here someone complaining about similar problems if you use a localized version? Like if you have the french version, you need to set the control panel regional settings to french? The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Bahger Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 By audio settings to you mean in-game or in config files, GGTharos? And which localised settings should I look to adjust having bought the English version of the sim in America? Thank you both for the responses.
GGTharos Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 In-game. 'Radio Speech', I think. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Bahger Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 Bummer. I downloaded a codec for .ogg files after confirming that the BS .ogg audio files did not play when asked to. For whatever reason, the filetype is associated with IfranView (an audio/video player) and so I downloaded the codec and installed it in IfranView. Now the .ogg files played. I started BS and, yay, I got wingman voices, and the trainer voice track. As with last time, however, the whole thing only lasted one mission and in all subsequent attempts I was back to square one, with no voice tracks. The sim is still functional but I'd like those voices! Can anyone think of a solution short of reinstalling?
