Edit: I nailed it, finally. On Vista systems Black Shark will not deleiver certain audio tracks if 5.1 is selected in your sound card settings. You have to roll it back to stereo.

I'm getting no wingman voices or tutorial voiceover audio. Here are the pertinent facts:

- I have a state-of-the-art gaming PC, quad-core, 6GB RAM, Vista 64x, onboard audio

- All of BS's .ogg and .wav files play in Windows Media Player so I definitely have the right codecs.

- I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sim. No luck.

- Voice is checked in BS audio menu

- I have tried associating the audio files with a different program than WMP, again with the right codecs. Again, they play in Windows but not in BS.

I am about to give up. I can play BS without the voice files but it will reduce immersion and greatly diminish my enthusiasm for the sim. Please help before I uninstall.

Thanks.

So your problem is solved (according to the first line /edit)?

If not give us an update again and we'll throw in some more suggestions :)

I had a similar problem with an onboard Asus sound card and Vista 64. It must be a driver issue. Do yourself a favour and get a Creative X-Fi card. A bit pricey but it wil fix your problem.

I should add my old Asus card worked with BS and Vista 32 but who wants to use a 32-bit OS these days, particularly with the memory contraints it incurs.
