Will version 2.7 (or earlier) campaigns work with version 2.9 of DCS?

Maybe.  There have been a lot of changes in AI behaviour and other core function since then, so depending on the aircraft and how simple the mission are it might be fine, might have some quirks or might be basically unplayable.  Odds are probably higher that it'll be broken than working, but worth trying.

I just flew a mission I've got saved from Flaming Cliffs 2; worked perfectly. The F-16's you must escort actually take out their target now and the SEAD package before does its job. All this with the new graphics,fog system and the splash damage mod alongside.
