flyboyzz1 Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Probably a dumb question but what do you do when bullseye is not a WP and the kneeboard doesn’t give any coordinates to add a WP?
rob10 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 As long at the mission maker has set a Bullseye in the game it will automatically populate it to WP59. So just scroll DOWN past the Markpoints to WP59 and assign that and you're good. 1
flyboyzz1 Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Ok yeah it’s set to WP59 but not in the sequence of WPs programmed. In the hornet how to you set a WP that isn’t programmed? Or do I need to manually add WP59? Guess I was thinking if I add WP59 it will not have coordinates.

The co-ordinates will automatically pre-populate in WP59 if the mission creator puts a Bullseye on the map in the mission. All you need to do is make sure SEQx is unboxed and you can scroll to any WP you want. If it's boxed you're limited to the whatever WP's are in the sequence. Just unbox it (it will go from BOXED SEQ 1 to UNBOXED SEQ 2 to BOXED SEQ 2 etc) and you can scroll down through the markpoints and WP 59 is the next one. You'll need to go through the SEQx options to get back to a boxed SEQ 1 if you want to only have mission WP's available to scroll through. There are always 60 WP's (0-59) and 9 Markpoints available. In every mission, but usually only a small number actually get assigned to anything. The others are there with no co-ordinates if you want to use them. BUT if you have SEQ1, SEQ2 or SEQ3 BOXED you can only access the WP's set for that SEQ. When SEQ is UNBOXED you can get to them all. Edited December 22, 2024 by rob10 1

I just had the same issue, couldn't see WP59, so i input the WP manually and set it as Bullseye. I did have SEQ 1 boxed, this helps a lot. thank you again. 1
jmarso Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Yeah, I recently discovered in the Hornet that a lot of things I thought the Autopilot was being temperamental about have to do with what is boxed on the HSI page. I generally find that if I can't get a button push to work or something to cycle, the key is to either unbox the sequence or uncouple the autopilot temporarily if I'm using it. Then it all works as advertised, and you can re-box and/or re-couple. I will say that this was a great campaign to re-introduce myself to the Hornet after a year-long break from DCS. Every time I go back to the game I dread having to relearn everything after I forget it, including my own HOTAS mappings. Every time I come back to the game I spend a week or more refreshing my knowledge base. I spend half as much time re-watching old YouTube tutorial videos as I do playing the game. 1
