ThePops Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Maybe answered already somewhere, but which time period is the Kola map supposed to be from? Is it contemporary? the cold war (60s? 70s? 80s). From the looks of it, it looks mostly contemporary, but some things also looks like 10-20 years old. Or is it supposed to be some fictional "near contemporary war state" map? Just wondering, because the Caucasus map is definitely from a bygone era compared with Google satellite photos. I think a "near contemporary war state map" definitely would be most fun in the long run.
Wingmate Posted January 7 Posted January 7 From the product page: Quote The Orbx DCS: Kola map is represented in its current-day state, with some allowance for late-Cold War military features and functionality. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/terrains/kola_terrain/ 2

Barkeeper Mieten The Kola map seems to be set in a "near contemporary" period, blending elements from various decades. While it has a modern feel, some aspects of it appear to be from the past 10-20 years, suggesting it's not strictly contemporary but rather a fictionalized version of the present or near future. It does not seem to align with a specific historical period like the Cold War. A "near contemporary war state" setting could indeed offer the most engaging and versatile experience for players. 2
