SixBravo Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I run a decent amount of campaigns and there are some great maps out there, but unfortunately a couple aren't super useful for large sections of them because of the lack of bases or airports. I was curious if it would be possible to get the ability to drop in a generic airbase template. Functional runway, parking apron, maybe some hardened shelters, and the fuel and ammo storage sites. I don't need spawn points since I can just place start-up aircraft with 'Take off from Ground' easily. Heck, it could even be as 'simple' as having a tool to convert a section of straight road like we have with Kola. Purists can not use the tool, those of us that need more than a helicopter FARP can get it. 2 Carrier Air Wing Five SMASH HERE FOR CVW5 DISCORD Now recruiting experienced Hornet drivers & Tomcat crews for PST evenings.
twistking Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Not a big fan of user placed runways as rigid objects. They will never meet ED's goals for visual fidelity. Having better tools to create roadbases would be appreciated though. It's technically possible now, but should be improved. For starters we would need the ability to block road traffic from highway sections. Functional ATC and mobile ILS and illumination systems would also be appreciated. Exorcet Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) We absolutely need placeable airbases. They don't have to integrate well with the terrain, half the static objects don't already anyway. I disagree with no needing spawn points though. AI access is important, especially when ATC is so basic and it's easy to clog airports.
