Hey, iam playing mission no.3 (defend dubai) and after takeoff off me and my wingman the remaining squadron devil 2 to devil 5 is not going to takeoff. They remain on the deck without leaving the parking position for the whole mission till my return after more than 60min. They all got the tasks via the F10 menu, is there anything missing from my side? Iam right that i do not have to plan their missions in the mission editor? Does anybody have had similar problems?

Hi,

Thank you for reporting. I'll investigate. 

All you need to do is to give them preplanned tasks. Before taxi director update your squadron mates took of before you but after the update they are waiting for you to go first. 

Do you have the taxi director enabled or disabled?

Hi,

the taxi director is enabled and in missions 1 and 2 the squadron follows me correctly.

As you may know, there is no squadron in mission 1. sorry!

Thanks. I have tested it for three times now and for some reason wasn't able to replicate the problem. The first mission has just a wingman but what comes to squadron mates mission 2 should be similar with the rest of the missions. 

I really hope it has been a one time bug so I'm asking you to retest. If it still happens please save a track file and attach it here. They should taxi to cat immediately after you have launched.

I tried it several times during the last days including a restart of the campaign. I will create a trackfile within the next 10 hours.

The latest update was auto installed on 20th january, all mods are official via steam (maps, f18, f14, campaingns).

Next problem, the track data always gets about the maximum permitted file size of 50MB in this forum, smallest possible is 53MB after 1 or 2min of flight. Any ideas how to transfer it?

Of course😫 Do you use tacview? If yes send me a file. 

In my tests devil 2 started to taxi to the cat just before I was launching. Did they move at all or did they stuck somehow while taxiing?

They are not moving at all and remain complete in their parking positions. Just installed tacview now but still struggeling how to use.

If you haven't tried yet you could try to skip the mission. This should move you to stage 4 with the same ground war situation, just about 6 hours later. Please report do you encounter the same problem then.

Unfortunately this sounds something I have no power to fix as with tools given for campaign maker it is not possible to cause (or fix) this kind of behavior. And as this is not obviously happening to everyone it might be some conflict between DCS settings and carrier taxi logic. This is also something that is quite difficult to report to ED as I can't reproduce the issue.

I just noticed that there is a new bug if taxi director is disabled. If the player taxies to cat 1 or 2 DEVIL 4 might start up too soon and collide with DEVIL 3. It also seems that ED has already changed something in taxi director code in development version as wingman now starts taxiing same time with the player. I'm working with a patch to fix the collision problem and together with changes made by ED there is a small change to fix this no taxi at all -issue too. Even if those changes has nothing to do with your issue there quite often is some heavy-duty sorcery included and things that are not ment to change will change.

Thanks for your effords. For me it looks a bit as the repeating of mission 3 causes the problem. However i will pause this campaign till the next updates, fingers crossed that i can continue this great campaign. Best campaign-setup so far 👍🏻

Thank you for your feedback and patience. I really hope too that this will be solved one way or other

I have also had problems with AI stucking in the deck (though not in msn one, nor that i would had tried to launch first). So do I understand correctly that the campaing should still work atm, if I just launch first? (taxi to cat first etc..) The deck crew can even be on..?

Hi,

Just tested and working normally with and without the crew. You just need to taxi first.

Yeah, actually just found out that in latest DCS update log there is separate note for Flamign Sunrise campaign 🙂

Hey! I just tested the effect of the newly released update to my problem and i must say that it looks as it has solved the problem. Devils 2-5 are moving again. I have tested it three times and they are always moving to the cat and are not stuck anymore. Back in business 😊 now i can defend Dubai!
