  1. Weirdly, this WORKED but only once. Played trough a mission in Rise of Persian Lion 2 campaing-> started the next one, or at least tried to start -> back to same freeze. Now I havent got it working any more pretty much in any way. My logbook is old, but whole dcs install is now pretty new as reinstalled win10 for other reasons. But clearly it did not do anything. At first startup same thing. Can reply this only with rise of pers. lion 2, before it was raven one only etc. Very weird. I have had other aircraft mods, but only that kind that stays in mod/aircraft/planetype one directory (easy to remove). but yeah, have tried every trick I have, even reinstall whole windows Clearly it SOMETIMES correlates with new logbook + random delete this and that from /savedgames/dcs folder. But havent found ANY logic with it. With new user i can SOMETIMES get it load the campaing, but that is more rare than the freeze. If and when it is a spawn thing, could it be the campaing itself that causes it? EDIT: And yes, clearly something halts loading of DCS.exe totally. CPU Usage gets to 0% pretty much immediatly as the "sim poststart" text appears. It loads random amount of stuff (seen in ram usage)-> then freeze + cpu usage 0%. Ok lets face it DCS sometimes stays in that screen for a moment, but it does not cut down the cpu usage in any moment if loading correclty (at least in my computer). BUT this problem shows out in a way that it just stops whole cpu usage of DCS.exe (it jumps around 0-0,2%, so pretty much just win 10 holding on with it I think..) Have stayed in that screen for 6 hours one time, just for kicks, but no. CPU usage just goes down and stays there. This got to has something to do with logbook / msn editor folder + campaing spawns or something itself. dcserror logs are pretty much no good because as mentioned before, DCS just halts. It gives some errors though with those units. Well as long as this doesnt show up in any other campaign -> I dont mind. OFC would be nice to play that campaign someday to its end, but it is only one campaing. More likely I am interest to see if this causes problems in future still with new campaings. I have had the problem at least in Raven One campaing (not anymore, dont know what changed) and ROPL2. What missions are you guys loading? Just for interest..
  2. This really is one of my favourite campaigns ATM. AS I am playing without track ir atm, and I am "barely new" to dcs -> it is good to have labels. I first cursed that no damage was shown BUT this campaing made me put myself sometimes labels away (ok I admit I have to use em just to see something, have old computer and graphs have to be pretty messed out to "medium" more or less in everything.) But the idea of "getting the fire to the right area" is great I think. Ok there is littlebit of "rush" of doing things right, but afterall that has been only good for me. Also had "bad habit" to put hornet just full of jsows and PEWPEW everything, so I also cursed the triggers in wpns, but that has also done only good. Afterall this makes player use myriad of weapons, and IMO keeps nice lvl somehow of "confusion". It has been really great pratice for me, as this varies from other campaings in many ways (mentioned above more or less, ofc they are just examples). I also like when somebody tries something fresh, and I think that "destroy the correct things" has done good for me. Also havent encountered ANY errors whatsoever in any "cycle" of updates of DCS or campaing itself. Have few campaings, weirdly all with hornet + persian gulf map, that nowdays are unplayable IF i dont make new user / clear logbook everytime. This campaing works as intented. I dont mind of skipping the missions. I am not a specialist by any means with msn editor / campaing creator tools of DCS-> but was wondering, could that hotstart be made with somekind of "if this mission is done first the go to these missions". Maby the easiest way would just be make "two" campaings, like there is ones with "supercarrier" and "no supercarrier" versions of campaings? But still, this is great campaing as it works. I truly recommend this for ppl who have learned to fly hornet, have done some missions. This gets one in action and follow the mission brief itself. The radio calls are clear "what to do". I just played wild weasel campaing with f-16, and had to learn airforce sead language to play it. OFC that is not bad either, but I like more in SP when things are clear, as one cannot confirm / say again as in MP etc.
  3. Dont want to put words in anyones mouth, and afterall havent got pretty much any clue how those missile things cross eachother, BUT what I can say for sure, is that many of thesekind of community mods, using more or less new / same new / old missiles configured to modern (or whatever) missiles, sounds etc - very often they cross eachother someways. I have wondered for instance sounds, what ever mod I have installed puts fc3 flankers sounds (as they usually use em or su-25t etc) to some of installed free mods sounds / messes original fc3 sounds. Havent really got the logic how / which sound is the main one driving over every other, but as an example. But yeah would be nice if somebody would draw an ideamap style of "squares and arrows" style of logic how dcs loads files and which uses which. Are the savedgames/dcs filess always the ones "on top", etc etc. For instace, it would be nice to have a mod or some enchancement also which woudl drive all missiles to evey plane with new conf (same conf) but dunno if it is possible? Can I for example shoot somehow nightstorms aim-9X3 with F-15C somehow etc. Havent btw tried f22 now after that fc3 graph patch. Does it still work?
  4. How is that cold start supposed to work. for me it says mission 1 hotstart -> press skip mission 1 cold start-> press skip mission 2 hotstart -> mission 2 cold start? Am I supposed just to skip to one i want?
  5. Yup. Noticed the same. But I bet it is not far from working, as many other mods also got their msls working (super hornet for instance, and with eurofighter..) Hmm. Could I really dont know ANYTHING about these things, but could I somehow, for example, use Eurofighter mods msls to get D´s working? But yeah Noticed just same. I think last update has done something, as there really is not long since I just flew with f22.
  6. Ok thanks! Yeah watched Deephacks short vid "jdam ripple with f-16". Solution for my question is more or less ofc make markspnts /wpnts of the targets (if want to wobble other stuff before drop etcetc), and then just drop the JDAM´s to wpnts / marks. Yeah.. this can be little confusing ofc after hornet, where the designation system is pretty much different. Designate system i maby like more, but f-16 makes it simple though. (as in many other things too, which ofc is not a bad thing always.. ). Now when I start to get hold of that spi system, everything gets more clear, and also in future more clear in other planes also (a-10, apache etc all use similar spi system etcetc..) After hornet i look many times some way to do things in f-16, while the solution is REALLY usually much more simpler. But yeah. Thanks.
  7. Ok thanks. (btw, it was not my vid.. ) I just joined the conv. as I had pretty much the same prob with few ordinant types. (JDAM, CBU-105 atleast). I have also wondered though, that does the JDAM "program" its target only if i push tpod -> point tranck (TMS up) OR does it update it also from area track? After which press does for example jdam designate itself? Does it always need TMS up (to designate). Or is it always just where the tpod is pointing before the drop? (in f16 ofc) Is there any page i can see in which point the ordinant is programmed (like in hornet the MSN page of JDAM). Would be nice to see in which coords for example it designates itself. It always drops to the SPI, but for example: Is there a way in f-16 i could move the tpod after designating the jdam, before dropping it, without jdam designating itself again? Does the SPI always move where the tpod is lookin? This might sound stupid, but yes I am pretty new to f-16. My english is not very good, hope you get hold on something from my typing
  8. Hmm. Seems that CBU-105 goes over with tpod pointtrack even lased pretty much same kind that my JDAM´s do. I would eliminate the tpod for sure if I had targets on the waypoints without searching The very basis for me the problem here is, that JDAM´s and CBU-105´s are not dropping where I pointtrack on pre mode (and yes I laze the targets etc.) CBU-105 has a reported bug. Dunno if that has something to do with tpod as my jdams seem to go pretty much either over or under the target. Or has this been solved yet, with JDAM´s. With hornet I really have ZERO problems with em. Even with pretty crazy DLZ situations. (only ofc normal driftting of the tpod.) But with f-16 the drift seems not be the case. BTW: as I am pretty new to f16, compared to many other planes-> Does pointtrack (or areatrack etc) make that point Spi / (or JDAM target in this case), or what was that about pressing the CZ. Does it always want a Spi on waypoint (the Jdam)? But still my prob is that with tpod they are inaccurate, in a way that seems to repeat itself more or not. Have to make a test range without any winds etc, but still big difference to hornet. Is this a reported bug also?
  9. I have now repeated this that many times, that noticed bomb really falls pretty inaccurate. This is pretty hard for me to research as I am pretty new to f-16. But have used cbu-105 that much, that i havent noticed this kind of problem before. Bomb seems to go over the target (so much that it isnt just the parachutes and wind i think) It would be great if somebody with better experience of how those really should work. Is the pointrack point the point where the bomb opens and drops its clusters / chutes, OR is it the point of area where the chutes shoudl fall? Still. I remember hitting with them where I point before. I would be greatfull if somebody would explain this to me. and sry for my thumbling english, I am a Finnish person, so it is pretty much rallydriver english. Quick solution would of be / just point in front of the targets, but still I would like to know how those SHOULD work, and do they work now as intented.?
  10. Noticed that Nightstorm had modern missiles working with f-22 again, with his enchancement mod. How is situation with gripen wpns at the moment. Clearly somebody has finally got touch on ED msl changes IF gripens european missiles does not work, just wonder could I thumble those AIM-120D-3´s of f22 to gripen? But the mainquestion: Do the wpns of Gripen commmunity mod work as they are now? If not is there any known way to get em working? Thanks for GREAT work with the mod. Gripen has been my favourite plane, pretty much since it was born. - Lasse, Finland-
  11. Nice. That worked. Just for interest - Is there some easy way to use grinellis original flight model but your weapons? Could I install these wpn changes without touching the f-22 itself, in some "convinient" way. (like droppin files / folders of from sp update etc?)
  12. Installed that first page (2024 patch) SP version + external wpns. I have A/G test mission for f-16 + cbu-105 that seems to fall long (thats another case...). Well ran that mission -> lost all enemy ground units somewhere, outcluding static objects. -> repair dcs + remove f-22 mod -> enemy ground units back again. Dunno reason, but somehow this mod + enchancements with ext wpns lose all enemy ground targets. Dunno if that is same thing with f-22 but the point is-> no ground units in any mission, atleast with f-16. Maby i will try with grinelli only, but atleast havent noticed this kind of behaviour before. Can somebody reply this prob..?
  13. This has been topic before, but was closed. Have now two days played same mission, and every time I drop CBU-105 in pre mode, was it 20k or 10k ft the "blast" falls ~100m long. Should it do this? Havent really used CBU-105´s very much, but as i recall using em before, they worked like a charm. Is this a known problem? Can somebody reply this? (sa-8 seached with HAD->made a markpoint with tpod-> cz to waypoint-> aim again to sa-8 with pointtrack-> pickle-> EVERY time just in the same place 100-200 meters long. Dont even get "smoke" of the blast of clusters to touch my target. (cbu open @ default 1500ft, all wpn settings in default + pre mode, single drop).
  14. So. To get info in one box - does f-22 and AIM-D in it work correctly with latest OB 2.9.anything? If so, what do I need to install. Before have used Grinelli + nightstorms stuff in the first page of this topic. Tried yesterday, ripped my wings off with pretty much every missile, and the ones that didnt just flew straight. So, is there a way to get f-22 with atleast 1 modern weapon working? EDIT: To be clear, the plane works fine (outcluding those display / rdr grid probs.. but thats another thing) -> does the wpns work somehow, and what do i need for it if so? Shortly: Does any modern msl mod work ATM. Heck did not even find anymore mod that would get r-77´s to su´s (russian su´s ofc..) (yes I know ED changed stuff with 2.8 / 2.9 that "broke" old msl mods /flightpaths. Not that I had any clue how those really work ;D)
  15. Have anymore 2 missions to go, and I am sad that it is ending.. Great campaing! I love the way it MADE me use just that stuff that has just been updated to f-16 (HAD/TPOD/HTS/recon/datalink / TDOA /EW stuff), and also markpoints. I am pretty new to f-16, or lets say havent played much SP with it, because there was no DLC campaings for my maps, before this. Anyways, learning curve is high, but just by playing / learning 1-2 missions otherones were more studiying the briefing itself. I loved this campaing, as now I feel MUCH more confident of using f-16, and specially the EW / Had->tpod->markpoints stuff. Thanks you for great campaing! What I would love to see in the future, is more freedom for choosing weapons, OFC that is not so much the thing in this campaing, because the missions are so specific to the need of the weapons that has been chosen. Still it would be nice to have some freedom with using different gbu´s / cbu´s etc. What I have noticed with before while playing with Hornet, is that replaying campaings is very good way to practice the usage of fire (different weapons to known targets-> different settings for weapons=> learn weaponry. 5/5 for this campaing or maby 5+ ! thanks you!
