Thoob Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Just got my PIMAX Crystal Light. Can't seem to crack 40 FPS no matter what I do. Feel like I should be doing quite a bit better than that with my rig. Hardware: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF, 32g RAM, GeForce RTX™ 3070 Ti 8GB GDDR6X Video Card I've tried to baseline by bringing all of the DCS settings down to none or low. Played around with the PIMAX play and Nvidia control panel settings and about 40 is all I get. Looking for recommendations.
Mrgone Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Try for smoothness over FPS. Yes, FPS is important however, it's more about smoothness. I run a 9900K with a RTS 3070 Ti and a Pimax 8kx headset. The Crystal has a couple of additional bells and wheels however still, the final FPS you can get depends on too many factors. Which Map, the complexity of a given area within the map, time of day, which aircraft and so much more. I can get 42 FPS with everything set to Ultra if I am flying in a low poulated area. As soon as you get to a city it will drop to 23. Remember this ( IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT FPS). Dropping the details a bit can make all the difference in the world. Our 3070 TI's only have 8gig VRAM. With the use of foveated viewing and DLSS 3.10 at setting "J" . . . I get 56-92 in the FA-18C using the Caucasus Free Flight. More than enough for a smooth flight. 56 over the cities at 5,000 ft 73 over the mountains at 6,000 feet. 92 over the moutains at 15,000 ft. Have a look at my current settings. Everything looks beautiful with some setting lowered. options.lua
Thoob Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Mainly flying F-18 right now. Was baseline testing marriannas. I'll try your settings and see what happens
Thoob Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Applied your settings. It is really smooth and resolution looks good. What's strange is when I initially start the mission, FPS is up around 60 then within 10 seconds or so it goes CPU bound and locks at around 35. Not a huge deal as the graphics are all smooth but just thought that was strange.
Calvin.Pimax Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Try to play around with the render quality in Pimax Play, and is the Quad-views enabled?

Calvin.Pimax Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Have you try the PimaxXR instead of the Pimax OpenXR runtime?

No because OpenXR is build in to Pimax play and I thought they were essentially the same thing. I'll install PimaxXR and disable Pimax OpenXR and see what happens. Appreciate that advice. 1
