The map and aircraft load fine, however in the quickstart free flight mission some weird flight control behaviour occurs. It is as if it develops a life of its own: the trim setting seems to jump randomly, and sometimes the stick movement along the pitch or roll axis seems to initially go in the opposite direction or not respond properly. The issue also appears when the weather is set to clear sky and 0 wind. I've checked the joystick controls and calibration as well as the profile config for the aircraft, all of which are confirmed ok. NB. this issue only occurs with the F-16 in the quickstart free flight mission that comes with the map! Loading this mission into the mission editor and flying it with another aircraft does not exhibit this strange behaviour, so this does not seem to be related to atmospheric thermal conditions, either. Also, F-16 flight control works flawlessly in the other maps, as well as on the Afghanistan map when a new mission is created from scratch.

Good luck in figuring that one out, and thank you for keeping up the great work on this wonderful terrain! 😉

Exit the mission, save the track and post sit here. And it will be "solved" in no time. 😉

It may be that the auto pilot is on. Usually on the missions that came with the AFG map and the f-16 I have noticed the AP is on and set to steer-point navigation.  When I make my own it does not.

Never happened to me, and it should turn off if you exceed the banking limit. Have you bound any switches to and have checked synchronise with HOTAS on mission start in the general settings?

Still happens to me when flying instant action action AA for example with hotas sinc on. Most things seem to sinc up but when I hit fly the AP goes into altitude + steer point mode and you can watch the switches in the cockpit change.  Not a big deal to me I hast have a habit to switch them on then back off immediately.  This is in an f-16 and I have the winwing hotas.  When I create my own missions it does not occur.  Like said not big deal once I figured out what it was and wondering like the OP why the jet was acting odd.

Have you doubled checked your bindings for conflicts? Try with HOTAS synch off. It
F that fixes it. You definitely have something on your HOTAS that turns on the AP.

Cheers!
