Mapi Posted March 4 Posted March 4 (edited) Will the export be as dark as the others? Will it be user-friendly and will it be possible to use a touchscreen? (without Helius) It can then also help other modules, or modules upgrades THX think modern ... Edited March 4 by Mapi 2
Robert31178 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Yeap, I was wondering the same thing. I have some MFD's and have to run Reshader and a UI mask just to make them useable except for the A-10, and even that one is only good during the day, night ops also required reshader work. 1
Rechs Posted April 21 Posted April 21 In addition to display export, I've been wondering about VR implementation since the module was announced. Having to use the mouse to click on the display would be a step-down from current 4th gen modules with the myriad of MFD and UFC etc products that allow easy control by hand. Unfortunately feeling for buttons and switches by hand won't work with a flat touchscreen, so I do hope ED has a plan to solve this from the beginning. 1
John5 Posted Sunday at 09:44 PM Posted Sunday at 09:44 PM In addition to exporting for a touchscreen, this is a great opportunity for ED to implement a feature VR users have desperately needed for a long time. Some way of interacting with the screen/cockpit using hand tracking in headsets like the Quest is an obvious path forward, especially now that Quest allows applications hardware access to the camera. This could be done similar to VTOL VR with "sticky" pointing to action areas to prevent accidental clicks (obviously VTOL doesn't have hand tracking but same concept can apply). Some button interaction methods like pinching/twisting can be devised to avoid the clumsiness of solutions like pointCTRL. This could eventually be rolled out to other modules as it is just as useful there... 1
