phoenixne Posted March 27 Posted March 27 When I bind an encoder to QFE Knob inc&dec (step) and triggered it, the value change too large. I tried all I can, it still can't inc/dec with 1 meter or minimum QFT, even I bind it to a key, it goes 73 meters per triggered. If I bind encoder to QFE Knob Inc/Dec (Press and Hold) command, worse... If I change the time of encoder pulse (decrease from 40ms to 20ms), it'll miss. If it triggered, still 73 meters per triggered. Is there anyway to calibrate it into 1 meter per triggered, or modify the .lua file in input folder, like add "value_down = 1" to resolve it?
virgo47 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Generally, encoders are not good for inc/dec controls (any control that is best controlled by axis). In most cases, encoders are slower than actual keys because the pulse action is just a fraction of the full time press action. That said, it seems that the issue is in the module in the first place. If even short pulses they are still "too fast" (coarse) for tiny adjustments, it means that inc/dec action is likely very fast in this module. I trialed the module some time back and my notes say that many knob actions had both "fast" and "slow" bindings - and that I liked slow much more. Isn't there an "slow" alternative for QFE knob? No. There's no any "fast" "slow" bindings for JF-17's QFE Knob. And also there's no axis binding for this knob, maybe because it's not very important. Checked the binding table, only down (step) and pressed (Press and Hold) for this knob. Just tested, no matter how small value I wrote in cmds or try my fastest to click the key, the number of altimeter still gose 73 meters per triggered. nullIt seems that it can't make it by modify the input file. Maybe it need to change clickable_defs.lua or clickabledata.lua, or somewhere... tired... 1
