Tg831 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I've tried unloading all my laser and GPS ordinance on the tank and score ok hits (strangely not always direct like I am used to not sure what is going on here). My wingman also makes some good hits, but it just won't die! Any tips?

If bombs are not exploding, check fuze settings (set to INST). If laser guided bomb is not hitting, check that you've lazing with your ATFLIR set to the correct code (1711). Hope some of this helps.
Kurnass1977 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 In my first try I expended all my load on the roadblock as the JDAMs missed, noted a costant issue in TOO, the bombs hit well short of the targets ( tis not happen with my other module, the AV-8B sp is a Hornet related issue) ; in my 2nd try replaced the GBU-38 with another pair of-12 and all work flawlessy
Tg831 Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 So eventually it died (now on mission 4 where the tanks also seem to soak up ALOT of damage), and yes the I'd set both laser and the bomb to 1688, without realising its preset to 1711 (and doesn't work if changed).

Yep, set ATFLIR to 1711. As for JDAMs missing target make sure to drop only when well inside the range window - max range often results in it falling short. Perhaps take a look at these two posts and see if any of it applies to your situation. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/371121-common-issues-and-solutions https://forum.dcs.world/topic/371252-a-few-tips-and-tricks
Kurnass1977 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Just one info: immediately after clear the deck after launch there is a voice that tols me to follow the carrier BRC. This is ok but I think is a too early call... Also is there a scoring guide? I scored 93, I missed one of the target 'cause the cell distract me and don't armed the laser at LGB release and revert to my wingman to hit the building
Hass Posted March 31 Posted March 31 (edited) I was playing this mission 12 times. JDAMS are inaccurate in this. Both if i align fully and align just JDAMS before AO, or after take off, including Inflight alignment, LGB's are pinpoint. First i played this mission 3 times and wondering what i did wrong since JDAM's were in 30 meter spread mode, tested most alignments. I knew the cruise flight to AO was long so i wanted to be sure JDAMs are aligned properly with accurate data fixed for drift. (even though it isn't needed as JDAM's/TGP take data from TERCOM for elevation guidance.) Of course i targeted with TGP. One pass ripple 2, second 2 passes with one. All in 30 mode spread however (As if there was a GPS jamming), no matter how deep in zone cue. I practiced it 12 separate times to be sure. Checked INS/GPS to be sure i get accurate data from GPS. Check drop parameters, speed , alignment, drop position. Then after a mission where i managed to have one bomb available after checkpoint there was another problem (no building marked with green smoke, just green smoke/misplaced). I loaded several other scenarios and i loaded with jdams, 8/8, 7/8, 7/8 consistency today i dropped about 40 with 37/40 accuracy. I am sure i know what i am doing, this isn't my first rodeo with JDAMs or FA/18 (over 1100 hours on it in DCS). I am starting to wonder if this is Syria map, or maybe JDAMs are not properly loaded. I will try to rearm on deck with the same loadout, or... there is a windshear down on deck i don't know about from METOPS. If the wind was the case however LGB's having a higher windbuckling would be affected too unless this has something to do with drop profile don't know that much about it. BTW. It is the same for Wingman, he drops 2JDAMS and 2LGB's and....God Bless His Hearth...last time he didn't hit anything. The tank mentioned requires direct hit, in current mission parameters i would suggest LGB, since JDAM's have a problem hitting a barrack complex alone. The tank is destroyable, i did that several times. Wingman never hit him. That shouldn't be needed however since, there are 3 targets in first checkpoint, with guided munitions it should be 100 over 100 with one jdam remaining. Edited March 31 by Hass
5e EVC Chappy Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) Just had the exact same problem. All 8 bombs missed the target by few feet. JDAM launched well inside the range window, and ATFLIR set to the correct code. Definitely a bug (DCS?).
