Andrei Posted March 30 Posted March 30 In Mission 1 I took the standard pace going though the startup including full alignment. Shortly after (<1 minute) after alignment was completed I started to taxi and at that moment carrier started turning away from the wind. The resulting takeoff wind component after the turn was complete was 8 knots head and 10 knots cross. Odd, we’ve never had that happen before, carrier is not set to turn for quite a while. Will look into it. are you using STD HDG to align your GPS or taking the full 8 minutes to spin up? Began taxi at +00:14:55 Carrier started turn after about +00:15:50 from the mission start. 1 AMD R7 5800X3D | Aorus B550 Pro | 32GB DDR4-3600 | RTX 4080 | VKB MGC Pro Gunfighter Mk III + STECS + VKB T-Rudder Mk4 | Pimax Crystal FC3 | A-10C II | Ка-50 | P-51 | UH-1 | Ми-8 | F-86F | МиГ-21 | FW-190 | МиГ-15 | Л-39 | Bf 109 | M-2000C | F-5 | Spitfire | AJS-37 | AV-8B | F/A-18C | Як-52 | F-14 | F-16 | Ми-24 | AH-64 | F-15E | F-4 | CH-47 NTTR | Normandy | Gulf | Syria | Supercarrier | Afghanistan | Kola
Nix Mills Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I checked the ship's log and it confirmed that the carrier did indeed make a hard port turn at 0646 hrs local time - so 16 minutes into your mission. The bridge have agreed to extend this a bit with the next update, although I did get some sass from the airboss who complained about camera crews, players and more holding up his launch window.
KENNY1988 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Hi Nix, I have the same issue. I've looked on this mission via ME and there are 3 WPs for carrier, see below. I think, If you do a complete startup procedure, you can't get to air before carrier starts turn. Carrier is going to WP1 only for 7 miles, so it's not enough time Thank you Flying KENNY null
Nix Mills Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) Thanks. I've moved WP1 giving it 5 min more, which will come out in the next patch. A little trick here, though. If you are spinning up your navigation instruments (GPS) all the way, it takes 8 minutes or so. So do this instead: - Set INS switch to CV - When your middle DDI screen comes on, press to box STD HDG at the bottom in the HSI screen - Continue your other start-up procedures - When the CV calibration timer has passed 1 min and 30 sec, it'll say OK - Set INS to NAV or IFA Edited April 5 by Nix Mills

I'll wait for next update. I'm only using Stored Heading and IFA during my startup procedure. Again, thank you for resolving this little issue. Have a nice day, man
