Welcome to the Virtual Carrier Task Force 58!

✈️ What We’re About
What began as vVMF-214 "Black Sheep Squadron" two years ago has evolved into a full-fledged virtual joint force that strive to recreate WWII Pacific Theater operations in DCS. With incredible additions on their way like the F4U Corsair, F6F Hellcat, Marianas 1944 map, and other Pacific assets, we're building something special—a historically-inspired, immersive WWII experience grounded in the legendary operations of Task Force 58.

We are a dedicated community of enthusiasts bringing the Pacific War to life, one sortie at a time. Using publicly available research, and an in-depth knowledge of Naval and Marine Corps history during World War II, we look forward to recreating these events with like-minded individuals in DCS.

🎖️ Why Task Force 58?
Task Force 58 participated in major battles like Operation Forager and the Philippine Sea, giving us a wide range of mission possibilities. While vVMF-214 remains our core Marine squadron, we are also introducing the vVF-10 "Grim Reapers", a Navy squadron from the USS Enterprise in 1944-45. This setup allows for joint operations while maintaining historical inspiration. As we grow, we plan to support additional squadrons under the vCTF-58 umbrella.

While we await official modules, we use the P-47 Thunderbolt as a stand-in for the Corsair and incorporate a few carefully chosen mods to fill in the missing pieces of the WWII Pacific puzzle.

🛠️ Server Offerings:
- Structured training for easy onboarding and skill development
- Solo missions and group mini-campaigns for continuous engagement
- Large-scale campaigns like Operation Forager, simulating the Battle for the Marianas. (to come post release of the WW2 Marianas Map)
- Immersive features, including a limited F10 maps, custom navigation tools, and dynamic battlefield elements

📋 Training & Campaign Structure
Before the full Pacific 1944 modules release, we’re introducing a comprehensive training pipeline, including:
- Basic Flight Training
- Advanced Combat Training
- Carrier Operations Training

These will be required to participate in multi-phase recreations of Operation Forager and other major Pacific campaigns. We’re building a foundation now so that when those modules drop, we’re ready for full-scale immersion.

🗺️ Our Persistent Server
Outside of our big campaigns, you’ll always have access to:
- Regular CAP operations and practice areas
- Mini-campaigns and smaller events
- Dedicated time for community training and mentoring

Larger Campaigns are still in development. Upon release of the official modules is when we will start hosting these types of Campaigns. Until then, most of us fly Wednesday's and Friday's, doing small missions and training with what we have. If you'd like to know more or follow the progress we've been making, feel free to drop by our discord!

We are located in different timezones so we have UTC +1, +2, -5, -8. A good time would be 1700 UTC on Friday. Usually evenings for U.S. W & F.
