Hoggorm Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Hello, Sound output is currently on Default in Windows 10. On the HP Reverb G2 those speakers were automatically selected and used once I started a VR session in DCS. With the Pimax, however, I either have to manually select the VR headset as both speakers and microphone. A hassle in itself or change the sound speaker in DCS. This gives its own issues... Any help so this goes automatic with the speakers and microphone still in default would be appreciated!
Nuggetz Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Select headset as default in Pimax play under device settings. Ensure Pimax selected in Windows sound and DCS Audio and you are good to go Ryzen 9800X3D, MSI RTX 4090, 2 TB SSD, 64GB 5200 MHZ DDR5 RAM, MSI 670E Motherboard, Pimax Crystal. Buttkicker Plus, WINWING Rudder Pedals & F16EX Throttle: FSSB-R3-MKII ULTRA Base/TMWH Joystick: DCS: F16C.

Under what submenu should it be? You say ensure Pimax is selected in Windows as sound. This is exactly what I do not want to do as this means I have to turn it back all the time after I'm finished with DCS. I'd like to play sound from my desktop speakers while not in DCS and when in DCS 2D. While in DCS VR I'd like the sound to come from the Pimax headset.
Nuggetz Posted May 2 Posted May 2 To ensure your Pimax Crystal headset plays the default sound, you need to configure it within both the Pimax Play software and your operating system. First, within Pimax Play, navigate to device settings and select the headset as the default audio output device. Then, within your operating system's sound settings (e.g., Windows Sound Control Panel), also select the Pimax headset as the default. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Within Pimax Play: Open Pimax Play: Launch the Pimax Play software on your computer. Access Device Settings:Navigate to the Pimax Play settings menu and find the device settings section. Select Headset as Default:Look for the option to set the default audio output device and choose your Pimax Crystal headset. Within Your Operating System (e.g., Windows): Open Sound Control Panel:Search for "Sound" in the Windows search bar and open the Sound Control Panel. Select Pimax Headset: Go to the "Playback" or "Output" tab and choose the Pimax Crystal headset as your default device. Apply Changes: Make sure to save or apply the changes within the sound control panel. By following these steps, you'll ensure that your Pimax Crystal headset is selected as the default audio output device both within Pimax Play and your operating system, guaranteeing that the headset will be used for all sound output, according to ED Forums. if your headset is not powered up or connected to your pc then it won’t get selected by Windows. I am not on my pc at the moment so cannot send a screenshot of the actual location of the default selection I Pimax play.
