kmaultsby Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I am trying to understand SimApp pro setup. I know DCS support 128 button mode but I also fly BMS. My question is if I understand correctly is I would have to set up SimApp Pro to 4X32 to setup my controls for BMS or any other sims, and then switch back to 128 button mode for DCS? Is that correct.
Nightdare Posted May 6 Posted May 6 No, you can use the unit as 4x32 in DCS as well BUT (IIRC) you'll see 4 almost identically named WinWing devices in DCS keybind manage, yet they use a 'different' parts of the hardware unit, good luck finding out which is which If you decide to change it from 128 to 4x32 (or vice versa) You'll have to reprogram the keybinds for all 4 'devices' separately, you cannot reuse the 128 button keybind .Lua ...I believe you can use a background program like Vjoy to configure 128 buttons to 4x32 for BMS/4x32 to 128 buttons for DCS, so you wouldn't need to switch in SimApp Intel I5 13600k / AsRock Z790 Steel Legend / MSI 4080s 16G Gaming X Slim / Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 64Gb / Adata 960 Max / HP Reverb G2 v2 Virpil MT50 Mongoost T50 Throttle, T50cm Base & Grip, VFX Grip, ACE Interceptor Rudder Pedals w. damper / WinWing Orion2 18, 18 UFC & HUD, PTO2, 2x MFD1 / Logitech Flight Panel / VKB SEM V / 2x DIY Button Box
rob10 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Unless you have a specific reason to use 4x32 (i.e. for BMS you had to do that a number of years ago and some other older games might also have limitations requiring that) it makes more sense to use 128.
