Hawkeye_UK Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Guys, Dial on front dash above the bomb fuse selector that controls "Flight Instrument Brightness" works opposite, as in the more you turn up the dial it decreases the lights (generally blue ones on say a2a pylons and CL link etc). This is with either axis command or just using the mouse. Also it seems like the full range of the brightness is limited to about 5% of the bottom of the dial. Please can you review when get chance. Thanks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DCS & BMS F4E | F14B | AV-8B | F15E | F18C | F16C | F5E | F86 | A10C | JF17 | Viggen |M2000 | F1 | L-39 | C101 | Mig15 | Mig21 | Mig29 | SU27 | SU33 | F15C | AH64 | MI8 | Mi24 | Huey | KA50 | Gazelle | CH47 | OH58D | P47 | P51 | BF109 | FW190A/D | Spitfire | Mossie | CA | Persian Gulf | Nevada | Normandy | Channel | Syria | South Atlantic | Sinai | Kola | Afgan | Iraq Liquid Cooled ROG 690 13700K @ 5.9Ghz | RTX3090 FTW Ultra | 64GB DDR4 3600 MHz | 2x2TB SSD m2 Samsung 980/990 | Pimax Crystal/Reverb G2 | MFG Crosswinds | Virpil T50/CM3 | Winwing & Cougar MFD's | Buddyfox UFC | Winwing TOP & CP | Jetseat

Thanks. The knob works correct. This is a common misconception and explained in the manual, see here:https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/cockpit/pilot/weapon_management.html#flight-instrument-brightness-knobThere are also some other threads on the topic already :)
Zabuzard Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Essentially, the knob has two functions. You commented on its secondary function. When moved out of the full CCW position, the aircraft assumes you are in a nightflight and all warning and indicator lights switch their power source to a low voltage one, entering a (non variable) DIM state. The primary function is that it would set the brightness for the backlighting of all instruments from 0% to 100% (with the full CCW position also being 100% for daylight mode). This feature is currently incorrectly linked to the knob on the lighting panel (right console aft) due to technical limitations with the animations.Further, all flight instruments can be controlled individually with the extra knobs on the right wall panel. (Currently not available for the same technical limitation.) 1

Thanks Zabuzard for the reply, apologies for the time taken to respond I did have the basic knowledge from the dash 1 and have read the manual, i think i may have had an issue with a joystick asiz reversal (Aka was going 100 at the min setting, but then fading to zero again at the top point, or the max Night setting if that makes sense) but also on reflection didnt explain myself too well in what i was experience in the game with the lack of control of the lighting, i will revisit as ive been to bed since lol. I should have referenced the side dials as was trying to control the HSI and airspeed lighting separately and all i could get to work was the rear aft dial just to the right of the white flood switch. Thanks for the clarity however, i will check its as per your brief. 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DCS & BMS F4E | F14B | AV-8B | F15E | F18C | F16C | F5E | F86 | A10C | JF17 | Viggen |M2000 | F1 | L-39 | C101 | Mig15 | Mig21 | Mig29 | SU27 | SU33 | F15C | AH64 | MI8 | Mi24 | Huey | KA50 | Gazelle | CH47 | OH58D | P47 | P51 | BF109 | FW190A/D | Spitfire | Mossie | CA | Persian Gulf | Nevada | Normandy | Channel | Syria | South Atlantic | Sinai | Kola | Afgan | Iraq Liquid Cooled ROG 690 13700K @ 5.9Ghz | RTX3090 FTW Ultra | 64GB DDR4 3600 MHz | 2x2TB SSD m2 Samsung 980/990 | Pimax Crystal/Reverb G2 | MFG Crosswinds | Virpil T50/CM3 | Winwing & Cougar MFD's | Buddyfox UFC | Winwing TOP & CP | Jetseat
