Paladin1cd Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Used the program and fifteen minutes later I tried launching again (had to shut down to do work before I even got into the game) and now the launcher just gives me a black box where it should be but never loads the launcher. Worked fine throughout the week. I've checked drivers, rolled back drivers, done a slow repair, nothing is working. dcs.log
Paladin1cd Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 Update: I have now done an full repair and that also did not workdcs.log.
sleighzy Posted July 13 Posted July 13 A few users been getting this. Rename your C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS folder to DCS.old (rename it and not delete so you can copy back your bindings from the Config\Input folder). The DCS folder will get recreated when you start DCS again. Something unknown at this stage is getting corrupted. AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
Paladin1cd Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 Thanks... I wound up having to completely uninstall and reinstall. None of the repairs would work.

Uninstall and reinstall should have done the same thing as running a slow repair with the option to remove extra files ticked. Neither repairs or uninstall/reinstall will touch the Saved Games\DCS folder (reinstall may update anything missing/defaults), so would have been the same as renaming it like I mentioned. Oh well, if it's fixed now then all good. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
Paladin1cd Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago (edited) It should have, but it did not. I had to scrub the drives of everything DCS related and then do it again. Problem is it has caused a new problem that is also unplayable. I'll post another thread since it is different. Edited 14 hours ago by Paladin1cd Added link to new thread
