Jester Ground Power

Just purchased the F14 I followed some videos on the quick start where they connect ground and air from the menu, I did that and Jester responds "Connecting Ground Power" but he never comes back and say "All set" no response from Jester, so the ground power remains off.

Not sure what I did wrong.

If the plane has no power, you need to open the canopy, so the ground crew that does the work, can hear you.

I started on the ground, so from the outside view the canopy is open. I will try to close it and re-open to see if the works, maybe a re-install is needed.

That doesn't strike me as the kind of problem a re-install would have anything to do with, I would look elsewhere first.

Going from memory, assuming your canopy is open, I switch to ICS, then it's option 8, option 2, option 1, I believe, from the Comms menu (8,5,1 for Ground Air Supply).

F1 "Cheif turn on the ground power"

Crickets..  no response back 

Really weird.

Even though the canopy is open, I dont think they hear me. I selected refuel & arm and did not get a response back. Works no problem with my Viper, F18

 

I guess starting with the engines on will have to do for now

After some research, here is why I can not connect ground power: " Neutral and non coalition airports will not provide aircrew support"

Haha! Excellent! Have ran into this myself so many times it should be the primary thing to check.

lol, oh ya, forgot about that one... have also run into that, usually trying to refuel/rearm somewhere mid-mission.
