Repeated failures with laser-guided bombs with TGP

I'm not a great F16 expert and I recently purchased the Gambler campaign (no mods, integrity check done). The first mission uses a laser bomb, which I used yesterday without too much difficulty. Targets hit. Today, a new mission, still with GBU12, and I never hit the target: 2 bombs per mission, 4(!) missions attempted. The shot always misses the target. I've watched a lot of tutorials in case I'm getting rusty (I already finished First in Weasel a while ago), but now I'm starting to suspect there might be a bug. Thanks for the support.

Which pod are you using? Laser in cmbt mode?

Go to list, misc (0), laser (5) and Change AG laser from training to Combat (cmbt)

That campaign uses different laser codes depending on who you are in the flight. The laser code you will be using is in the kneeboard and will need to be changed in the DED. id also recommend changing the lase time to 20 seconds so it starts lasing sooner to hopefully allow for drop errors.
