AndrewDCS2005 Posted Saturday at 08:48 PM Posted Saturday at 08:48 PM (edited) Are Tomcat Case I-III recoveries documented anywhere? Official Heatblur DCS F-14 Tomcat — Heatblur F-14 Tomcat 1.0 documentation does not have anything on carrier landing, and while there are some videos on YT on Case I (some 4+ years old) but where is the actual as-implemented DCS F-14A/B documentation on carrier ops? Hard to believe there's none. Edited Saturday at 08:48 PM by AndrewDCS2005
Despayre Posted Saturday at 09:20 PM Posted Saturday at 09:20 PM and I'm not updating this anymore. It's safe to assume I have all the stuff, and the stuff for the stuff too.
Lt.Salty Posted Sunday at 08:08 PM Posted Sunday at 08:08 PM There are excellent topics and documentation about that. Victory 205 for example, a former tomcat pilot did a several pages long tips & tricks / guide on it, Chucks Guide has a section dedicated to Case I and Case III recoverys. And Mooch on YT has his old pal Rear Admiral Mike "Nasty" Manazir demonstrate how a case I is done.
AndrewDCS2005 Posted yesterday at 07:11 AM Author Posted yesterday at 07:11 AM What I was looking for is something similar to @Minsky outstanding F/A-18C kneeboard and breakdown of CASE I/II/III but seems there's none (unless Minsky would gift us one for Tomcat ) Victory 205 IRL-inspired CASE I guide is great of course, thanks for bringing this up!
cesarferrolho Posted yesterday at 09:12 AM Posted yesterday at 09:12 AM You can also practice the training mission for Case I recovery that comes with the Tomcat module. It has a simple diagram in the briefing screen, but with some nice info. And the mission itself even has those green squares to aid in doing the proper circuit. Sadly there is no Case III training one, only Instant Action missions
