GAJ52 Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 I and my wingman approach a target and stay about 6 KM away in a hover. I then assign my wingman a target but instead of attacking the target from a safe distance i.e. where he is - he fly's right into the target area and gets shot down. What instructions can I give my wingy to attack a target at a safe distance and return ?? Glen GAJ52 Intel i7-7700K @ 4.60GHz | 32 GB Ram | Win 10 Pro 64 | GTX 1080i 11.00MB | Saitek X52 Pro
Bee_Sting Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 it depends on what u have him attack and what weapons he has to use.
GAJ52 Posted August 16, 2009 Author Posted August 16, 2009 Good point - I'm flying the Georgian Oil War campaign and normally on CAS missions. We are both armed with ATGM's and I normally ask him to take out Air Defences or Tanks, so I assume he should be using his ATGM's. Bee_Sting Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 well make sure that u are not in the radar range(out of the blue area). if the wingman has long range weapons,he will use them first.using the data link system should fix this problem, because he will know what he is attacking and what weapon to use. he will be out of their range if he is using the vikers(atgm)
GAJ52 Posted August 16, 2009 Author Posted August 16, 2009 Thanks I'll give that a go. I must admit I haven't been using data link just radio commands. GAJ52 Intel i7-7700K @ 4.60GHz | 32 GB Ram | Win 10 Pro 64 | GTX 1080i 11.00MB | Saitek X52 Pro
